Two words: Thumb holes. I have long arms. Long skinny arms. Basically picture Alberto Contador post triple crown. These things, in small, manage to stay on my arms, and I can put my gloves on over them so no cold leaks in to my poorly insulated arms.

I lost one warmer from my trail pocket. Ordered another set. For the price they can't be beat, and being that they are wool they don't stink up quickly like poly blends.

I like egg beaters. I like them a lot. The local trails are filled with baby head sized roots and my fav trails have cow skull sized rocks to roll through.
The best part of these pedals is how easy it is to ditch the bike when you get in way over your head. I've managed to escape many broken bones by clipping out in the nick of time.

These 4ti models meet the advertised weight and though I only weigh 145 lbs, they work as well as the cheaper egg beaters, but the construction is nice and the box they come in looks like something you'd see a piece of jewelry in.
Love these pedals!

i've never had this problem on my egg beaters or my candy SL.
I've used my egg beaters for a couple years now and still haven't had to rebuild. replaced a few cleats though!
