the care tag indicates that you can only hand wash it upon removing the spine protector.
cold water + mild detergent seem to do the trick.

and here is a quote from info@pocskiusa.com on the same subject:

Pull the VPD out of the garment. Wash with soap and water and air dry.
The garment can be washed in a mesh bag on the gentle cycle. Air dry.
