My computer has a problem with the totalizer distance screen

My computer has a problem with the totalizer distance screen "ODO". I reset the computer and enter in the miles and then it quickly resets itself to zero. At that point, when I try to reset the numbers, it will not let me change from the "0's" displayed. All other things work on the computer. Is this a common glitch with this unit? And, isn't this screen supposed to regular total miles logged on all rides?
