Nice Shirt but not perfect

I liked this shirt a lot. Enough at least that I bought another. The fabric was comfortable, not overly warm, and not itchy. The shirt has a fairly athletic fit, but the sleeves are really tight. I have what I consider average arms but the sleeves make it look like a Euro Smedium. Fits fine across chest and back. This sort of keeps me from wearing this shirt on its own in public and it has been relegated to the gym or wearing under another shirt. The collar is a little weird too. I can't say enough about the wool fabric though. No matter how much I sweat, once it dries there is little stink, making a quick grocery shopping trip after the gym not so bad. It also does not smell too much of wet dog (or wet sheep) when it gets wet like some other wool shirts I have. So far it has held up well in the wash despite the thin fabric. Make it in the USA (instead of Vietnam) and give it a little more room in the sleeves and it would have a full five stars.

Nice but not great

Ibex U-Sixty T-Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Ibex U-Sixty T-Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

I really wanted to like this shirt a lot, so much that I would buy more. I would describe the fit as regular, not tight or athletic. The fabric feels good, but I would say it is a little warmer than the synthetic fabrics (without synthetic fabric stink). But the cut in the shoulders was a little weird. It was almost like there was some extra fabric and it is made for someone with massive trap muscles or something. The other downside is that when this shirt gets wet (i.e. sweat) it smells like a wet dog, or more appropriately, a wet sheep. This is one of the few shirts made in the U.S., which is the primary reason why I picked it over others. I don't mind paying a little extra for U.S. made products, but they have to work. I can get over the smell and it seems to go away after a while (or maybe my stink just overcomes it), but the weird fit just does not work for me. Other than that, the fabric is comfortable and no matter how much I sweat, once it dries, it smells relatively fresh (don't worry, I wash it anyway). I have also hand washed this shirt in a hotel sink and in a regular washer and it has held up well. Maybe mine had a defect in manufacturer, who knows. But I give it a slightly warm recommendation, as long as you can return it. As for mine, I kept it, works wells enough, but not enough to buy another.

Icebreaker BodyFit 200 Boxer with Fly - Men's

Icebreaker BodyFit 200 Boxer with Fly - Men's

The merino wool fabric is fantastic. The fit is relatively decent, if you can live with the high rise. The fit is similar to the now discontinued Mountain Hardwear boxer briefs. This and the other issue that others bring up is the placement of the multiple tags. I have no idea why so many and why along one of the side seams. Icebreaker also makes a big deal about using New Zealand wool, but these are still made in China regardless. I ordered the Smartwool Lightweight boxer briefs at the same time as these (made in Vietnam) which are about the same price but fit me much better. The weight of the fabric is about the same between the two. In the end, I returned these since I'm not about to spend $45 on underwear that doesn't fit just right.
