I have been out on these skis for 4 days in variable conditions from ice to slush to the deepest snow central CO has seen this year. I've ridden them in the bumps, trees, bowls, and groomers, and done a little hiking with them. I loved them from the start, but wanted to give them a little more time just to be sure. Now I'm sure. I just came off a 184 Mantra, which I skied on for about 4 years and 200+ days until I finally broke them. I never thought I'd love a ski more than those and was sad to see them go. Based on recommendations I'd heard, I picked up a pair of Salomon Sentinels at the beginning of this year and skied on those a handful of times. I didn't like them in most conditions (I wrote a review on those if you want more details), so traded them in for the Enforcers. Being that the Enforcers were 4 mm wider than my old Mantras, and I spend about 50% of my time in the bumps or tight trees, I decided to size down to 177, which was the shortest ski I've used in a long time. I figured the stability and stiffness of the ski would combine with the width to handle anything I could throw at it even at that size, and I was right. The shorter length makes these things super quick in the bumps and trees, but the generous shovel still floats in a couple feet of fresh. It also rips at speed on groomers, where I love the playful energy and have found no chatter. If I was skiing Utah size dumps on a regular basis, I'd probably own a fatter ski as well, but for CO this ski makes the perfect one ski quiver. I am 6'3 and 175, and a type III+ skier.

I skied on a pair of Mantras for about 4 years and 200+ days until I finally shattered the tip. After hearing many good things about the Sentinel, I debated long and hard about whether to make the switch (I even posted a question below). I was attracted by the early rise rocker, as well as the apparent stiffness of the ski. I did not demo it before I bought it. My impression is that anyone who says this ski rides a lot like the Mantra (or is as stiff as the Mantra) has not spent enough time on both skis. I have not found the similarity to be true. While the Sentinel is a decent ski, and not a wet noodle like the old Pocket Rocket or many other older Salomon skis, it was not nearly as stiff and did not bring as much energy as I'd hoped. It does pretty well in soft snow (I had them out in 28" in Utah this year), but I never had a problem in my rocker-less Mantras in the deep stuff either. For me, the worst part is the mount line, which is super far back compared to my old mount. This means a ton of shovel up front which makes bump skiing quite a bit more challenging. You could mount it forward, but it throws off the camber of the ski because of the early rise tip. As I mentioned, I didn't find a huge advantage in the deep stuff to being that far back, but a less aggressive skier or someone who feels like they need to sit back in the powder might. Additionally, if you get them up to screaming speeds on hard pack they won't hold a hard turn as well as my old Mantras, letting out of the turn and often times adding a little chatter. I'd say this is a great ski for the advanced intermediate, but for those looking to power the hell out of their skis in all conditions, I'd strongly consider looking to some of the stiffer options out there. For the record, I'm about 6'2 and 175.

This is a pretty slick looking rain jacket, and is light with good mobility. I definitely enjoyed it at first (hence the 2 stars)!

Unfortunately, after about 10-12 months of regular use (I live in CO where is doesn't rain that much for most of the year) the thing lost its waterproofness almost entirely. I'd be OK in a very light mist, but in a heavy rain I'd look like I'd been hanging out in a hot tub with a sweater on. I tried waterproofing it but it didn't take. I think that must have been my waterproofing skills.

I checked with their warranty department, and they asked me to send it back. Once they got it, they ran some tests and said it was in perfect condition and as waterproof as it should be. Perhaps their definition of waterproof differs from what I'm used to, but I certainly wouldn't depend on this thing to stay dry. Definitely going to look into other options. Looks like another reviewer below had the same experience.

I will say that the ventilation is pretty good. I've not warn it in conditions where I've sweat a lot, but it seems like by opening the pit zips you get some good airflow, so +1 for that.
