These belts are the bomb. After using one for a day, it's the only belt I will use on the slopes. It's comfy and does it's job.

Gore Bike Wear Oxygen SO Toe Protector

Gore Bike Wear Oxygen SO Toe Protector

Rating for this product: 4 November 21, 2011

If you're up early and out for a ride in cold weather. The toe protectors are a must! They are easy to get on, protect your itty bitties from the wind and are one more layer for when it's a little wet out. Being a skier, my toes are very susceptible to getting cold so these are a must for me.

All time travel Camera bag

DAKINE Sequence Backpack with Camera Block - 2000cu in

DAKINE Sequence Backpack with Camera Block - 2000cu in

Rating for this product: 5 November 20, 2011

I travel all the time and love taking photos of my travels. I carry a 7d, 70-300, 17-40, 50, 10-22 and a 28-135, plus three hard drives, cords, eyepiece for when I shoot video, all my nd filters and other stuff I'm probably forgetting. I also bring my computer, iPad, pens, note pad and it still has room for snacks, water, sunglasses and more. Not to mention, when you ride, you can strap up your boards easily on the sides. It's comfortable and just fits in the overhead bin. It's also pretty handy when you go somewhere skethy and don't want to bring your camera, just take out the block and you're good to go. I obviously highly recommend this pack!

I somewhat agree. I say you get the 169 and mount them a little forward of traditional. I always ride the Obsethed -2 from core center which I believe is about +5 anyway. The way the ski is designed puts the sidecut nearer to the center of the ski which is where you want to be to have as much control as possible. If the place you demoed these skis mounted them with schizo's then you should move them to +5 and try them again.

K2 Kung Fujas Ski

I'm not sure what you're talking about Andrew. I grew up skiing bumps and must say I still shred bumps on my boards all the time. You may not want to take them to the Olympics but they still shred the bumps.

K2 Kung Fujas Ski

November 20, 2011

If you are only doing 5 days of side country a year, weight should not be an issue. I personally have not weighted them but I'd say they are about mid-weight for a ski. What it may lack in weight, it makes up for in durability and performance. I've used them for sidecountry and think they are great! K2 Kung Fujas Ski

November 20, 2011

I guess it depends on if you want to a ski for quick pow tree skiing or for when the snow is a bit variable or packed. 179's are certainly the way to go for you considering your height and weight. I'm obviously going to recommend The Kung Fujas. It is a perfect all around ski that is quick and agile in variable snow and on groomers. I grew up a bump skier so I still dig having a ski that I can maneuver quickly but can wash em out when I get in a tricky situation. Throw some pow at them and they can handle that too. These boards do not disappoint. To be honest, the Prophet is almost identical to my ski, it's just a bit narrower and thus can't handle the deeper snow as well and I can't tell you anything about the Shoguns. Have fun on whatever you decide.

Black Diamond Momentum Speed Adjust Harness - Men's

Black Diamond Momentum Speed Adjust Harness - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 November 20, 2011

Love this harness. It's light, has everything I need for sport climbing and is small enough to go underneath my ski pants when I'm shredding Alaska. It's about as versatile as I am.

K2 Kung Fugas Griffon SchizoFRANTIC Ski

Rating for this product: 5 June 29, 2011

These are the boards I've developed for the past 6 years and am very proud of the way they turned out this year. Each year they are always improved upon and in my mind are the best ski if you are going to have a one ski quiver. These skis will do it all. I mean they aren't going to do everything amazingly, that's why there skis made for every different condition, but these skis do everything and that's a quality I cannot say about too many other skis. They can handle the hard pack, chop, chunder, park, pipe, powder and everything in between. Matched up with schizoFrantic binding from Marker and there is no comparison. Carry a dime and change your stance in an instance if the conditions change. Happy Shredding!

Primus EtaPower EF Stove

Primus EtaPower EF Stove

Rating for this product: 5 June 29, 2011

I've had this burner for 2 years now and absolutely love it. It's fairly compact and packs decently. Plus it comes with all you need to whip up delicious meals while you're camping. The pot and pan never take more then a couple brushes to get clean. To top it off the burner boils water faster then any other stove I've ever used or come into contact with. It was a purchase I will not regret.
