MSR WhisperLite Stove

MSR WhisperLite Stove

Rating for this product: 5 June 15, 2010

Really like this stove. I have had it for over 10 years and it has worked well for me. Sure now there are lighter more efficient stoves out there, but if you want a proven stove that will last a long time and your just getting into backpacing and camping this is the one.

The only goggles to never fog on me

Oakley A-Frame Goggle

Rating for this product: 5 June 15, 2010

These were recommended to me by a friend of mine...he said they won't fog on me. He was right. They work as advertised and I have used them moutaineering and snowshoeing. They do not fog and protected my eyes @ over 14000 feet. you get what you pay for. Don't mess around with your eyes. You only have 2.

I live out of this bag 1/3 of my life

Eagle Creek ES Cargo Duffel Bags

Rating for this product: 5 June 15, 2010

As a firefighter I live out of this bag 1/3 of my life. I take it to and from work full time. I also use it when I travel. It is more than a go to bag for me it is literally part of my daily life. The material is sturdy and holds up great. It also seems to resist water pretty good. I have had it in rain storms in the back of my pick up truck and it is by no means water proof. The contents do however seem to always survive. This bag is more than enough for the casual user.....thats all I can really say. I have had mine for around 4 years and if it ever wears out which it probably won't I will by another one. All Eagle creek stuff from my experience is top notch.

MSR Lightning Ascent Snowshoe

Rating for this product: 5 June 14, 2010

I have to many good experience with these shoes to write about. They have allowed me to experience some beautiful places in the Sierra Nevada Moutains I could have never went with a lesser shoe. They are lightweight, have comfortable bindings that stay on the first time, are great for climbing, and have good traction for up and down hill. Place them in your shopping cart and congratulations...you have just bought your last snowshoe.

great tent for the money

Eureka Alpenlite 2XT Tent: 2-Person 4-Season

Rating for this product: 5 June 14, 2010

This tent has really worked well for me. Easy to set up. Poles go right in holes without any problems or a tight fit like some tents. There are 6 poles and all have a clear place. 2 long, 2 short, 1 spine, and 1 horizontal beam. This makes putting this tent together easy and not confusing. The tent has like 6 places to ventilate and condensation is not usually a problem for me. There are also plenty of pockets inside to store things. The best part about this tent is the fly. It is constructed very well and has NEVER.....EVER had a problem with any leaking or 2 much snow making it sag. It has spots for 8 guidelines. I have had it in 40mph+ winds and snow and it performed as advertised. Great tent for the money so far....thanks

got me to the top of Mt. Shasta with no problems....got in a bit over my head in a few area's but I feel the reason I made it out safely was mainly due to these crampons. You know gear works as it should when you forget its there....11 out of 10 for saving my butt. thanks

Black Diamond Momentum Speed Adjust Harness

Black Diamond Momentum Speed Adjust Harness - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 May 3, 2010

I have used it in the climbing gym. Easy to tie into. Have also used it for work in rescue classes where we had to swim in rivers and boulder over rocks in Yosemite....It held me fine and was pretty comfortable. The harness is pretty cheap as well. Probably a good choise if your just geting into climbing.
