The backpack has a small front pocket and two sacks (?). The back sack has a mesh holder sewn in so that your laptop will not touch the bottom of the backpack--the idea being to prevent your laptop from being bumped from the bottom while you're commuting. However, the mesh holder is only about 1-2 inches above the bottom of the backpack, so your laptop will still probably get hit a little, although not as hard. It would have been nice to have padding with the mesh holder. The front sack has a compartment for pens and such, but I find this extremely inconvenient as a student because the pens and such bulge out of the compartment and my books and folders don't lie on a flat surface and will likely get bent. The front pocket is also very small and cannot hold your wallet and other things you want to retrieve quickly. In addition, the backpack is very lightweight, which is good if you don't want weight but bad if you want the backpack to last a long time. Overall, the backpack is made (and good) for light commuting with a laptop and not really as a campus pack for students. To be a campus pack, it needs a larger front pocket, a bit more room, and to be sturdier.
