Primus Windscreen/Heat Reflector Set

Primus Windscreen/Heat Reflector Set

Rating for this product: 1 July 29, 2011

I bought this windscreen for a trip in specific. Unfortunately when my order came, it didn't have the base ring to place around the stove, Backcountry immediately sent me a new replacement (sealed packed) and that set was also incomplete. I would have kept it if it was easy to cut myself in order to rig it to my stove, but the edges are extremely sharp and didn't want to get hurt. If you order it, make sure you get three pieces as shown in the images.

Evolv Hera Rock Climbing Shoe - Women's

Evolv Hera Rock Climbing Shoe - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 February 15, 2011

The only shoes I owned before the evolv heras were the beginner mythos....I used to think leather was the best option for climbing shoes and that I would buy another pair of mythos since they fit so well on my extremely narrow feet . After I read reviews I decided to try the Heras as a more advanced shoe.

They made a great difference! the whole surface of the shoe sticks to the walls way better, the heel allowed me to heel hook confidently.

The only issue I had with these shoes is that when I ordered them a Backcountry expert told me that I needed the same size as my mythos (which were size 7 for the heras or 5.5 for mythos) I was told that the shoe would fit perfect after 8 hours of climbing time.

After 3 months wear and suffering (I climb almost everyday) my feet still hurt soooo bad I had to get off a long easy outdoor route before finishing it. I couldn't even stand around wearing them if I wasn't climbing.

I reordered a half size bigger and have the perfect fit!! Just keep in mind these shoes are synthetic, they won't stretch as much as leather shoes.

Black Diamond Primrose AL Harness - Women's

Black Diamond Primrose AL Harness - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 June 17, 2009

The most important thing before buying this harness is to find out which is the right size for you. If you buy a very small one then of course it will only fit around the small of your waist and will seem like a funky fit.

I tried a couple of sizes and the S fit me perfectly, I am 5'7'' and normally wear size 5 for pants. There is enough room to adjust.

The padding is very comfy, easy to fit. I personally like the double back style buckle for safety reasons (if you climb cracks it is safer in case it gets stuck on the rock wall because it won't go loose).

It is not as pretty looking as other brands, but it has more features such as the plastic covered waist loops which make it easier to hook or unhook anything while climbing, a double leg to waist length adjuster, etc.

Considering the lower price, this harness gives more for its value and I totally recommend it to any level of climbers.
