Great jacket with quirky fit

Outdoor Research Hypnotic Down Jacket - Men's

Awesome down jacket - great warmth to fill ratio and very durable fabric.
This jacket was bought to replace an older "bubble style" down parka that looked too much like I was heading out on an expedition when I was wearing it around town.
Some notes:
* no hood - Good by me as I am a hat wearer and appreciate less bulk around the collar. That said, while the collar is insulated, its not a "baffle design that completely closes off when zipped up. More like a zip up fleece than a windproof seal.

* narrow fit - I am 6', 185 and 42 chest. That said, sleeves are fine (I am 35" sleeve) but the overall fit of a LARGE is not oversized or loose. Not a ton of room for layers, but then. this jacket is warm enough that it shouldn't be needed and not intended for expedition use.

* the shoulders - that quirky fit part of the review - the sleeve is neither set in nor true raglan design...the quilting of the down which adds to the tapered look of the jacket is not included across the sleeve and shoulder...the result, while a perfect fit, is the shoulders poof a bit...the stitching across the tummy reminds people of abs, and the shoulders make me look ripped. Not at all affecting the fit, but something to be aware of if you imagine it will bother you.

GREAT jacket - highly recommended. In black it carries off a metropolitan look just fine, but its got the OR name behind it.
