ALPS Mountaineering Zephyr 2 Tent 2-Person 3-Season Tent

ALPS Mountaineering Zephyr 2 Tent 2-Person 3-Season Tent

Rating for this product: 2 June 22, 2011

Didn't even get a chance to use this tent...set it up in the living room side by side with another SAC order (bought Big Agnes Madhouse 2 in same week to compare side by side). The ALPS Zephyr 2 is SMALL and more like a one person. It tapers at your feet and has limited space in volume at the taper. Also, found two defects straight out of the box which has me questioning the quality of this tent. They were 1) buckle in fabric at seam and a 'cut' in the screen with a 1/2" hole and 2) broken zipper which was already coming apart. VERY glad I set this up indoors prior to using it out. Again, will be returning for questionable quality. Keeping the Big Agnes!!!

We LOVED this bag...but temp rating not accurate

Big Agnes King Solomon Sleeping Bag: 15 Degree Down

Big Agnes King Solomon Sleeping Bag: 15 Degree Down

Rating for this product: 4 May 31, 2011

Just got back from an early May road trip down the Pacific Coast Highway (northen to central California section). It was May but temps at night were down in the high 30's, low 40's. We used this bag in conjunction with the Big Agnes insulated air core pads. While we absolutely loved the featured of the bag (the neck baffles are brilliant, easily zips, packs down small and has tons of room for the two of us) we got cold. In fat, we had to position our down coats down the sides of the bad near the zippers (both of us, both sides) and we did sleep in hats and insulated underwear, with sweaters on top. I was disappointed in that aspect and had hoped this bag would have been perfect unzipped at this temp...not sure why we were having trouble in the high 30's, low 40's. We did find the bag had PLENTY of room (two women, 5'-4" each). We did not suffer from cold feet however. Great design on the pads sliding in the back, love the color and build quality. Any ideas on getting a higher temp rating out of this bag?

LOVE these, but colors vary by size

KEEN Targhee ll Hiking Shoe - Women's

KEEN Targhee ll Hiking Shoe - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 May 31, 2011

I ordered several different colors prior to deciding on which pair to go with. To my surprise several of the colors fit differently (maybe this is due to prior year outdated colors or?) In any event, I settled on the chocolate chip/sap color. Fit TRUE to size for hiking shoes (I'm a 6.5-7 and I went with a 7). The Slate black/seneca also fit the same BUT the shitake/rust color ran small (beware if you go with that color). I have a narrow, shallow foot and while the toe box is larger, these fit very well in the heel and super comfortable from day 1. I have to double tie them as the soft laces (tube in shape but like a running shoe) untie very easily. Great sole and good support on medium day hikes. Highly recommend!

We LOVE our travelchairs

Rating for this product: 5 May 30, 2011

This is a WONDERFUL chair...exactly as others said. It's easy to pack, fits in heavy duty bag perfectly, easy to carry. The hard plastic feet are a bit tough to get flat on rocks (obviously) but the quality of the chair is unbeatable. We didn't tire sitting in them (seem to have more support than others). Would be nice to have two cup holders and stitching on that area was a bit lax BUT it doesn't affect the overall function. LOVE the greenish/yellow color...we bought two. Will consider this brand for other portable chair needs. These chairs are some of our FAVE camp gear!
