We just purchased this tent and used it through 3 days of rain and it is definitely waterproof (providing the tent fly is set up correctly). If you are looking for an easy set up because of the number of clips you see on the main frame. BE AWARE...this is an INCORRECT photo as shown. The main frame has ONLY fabric sleeves going all the way down all four poles.. only the 2 wings on the side has clips. I called up The North Face and they admit the photos seen on all the websites are that of "pre-production" photos...you will NOT find any trailhead tent in existence w/ those clips in the main body of the tent. Nevertheless, it was possible for one person to set up this whole tent...it just takes a lot longer w/ fabric sleeves than had it been with the clips as the picture shows...but for a family tent of this size, it was relatively easy to set up.
