It's definitely a stretch, in my opinion, to consider these true trail shoes. I was hoping for a summer trail shoe that would let me "approach" trails on the roads comfortably. However, they ride very high, and I found them to be very unstable on the trail. They're fine if your trails consist of grass or bark paths, but anything resembling rocks or roots is an accident waiting to happen. Simply too cushioned and high to let you blow through that stuff. That being said, the cushioning and their light weight does work well for the road. Therefore, I'll only consider them now for more road/less trail, and will look elsewhere for a summer trail shoe.
