Has anybody used these as solely crack climbing shoes? If so, how did they perform and how did you size 'em? Thanks!

CRACK!

Scarpa Vision Climbing Shoe -2009

Scarpa Vision Climbing Shoe -2009

These shoes are excellent. The rubber is pretty good, the leather/anti-stretch has the benefits of synthetic and leather which is sweet (they're breathable, don't get smelly as quick, also don't stretch a lot). I wear a 10 street shoe, 7.5 in Mad Rock Flash, 9 in Five Ten Dragon, 8 in Five Ten Anasazi, and 39.0 in these and they're awesome. The fit is great, no dead space in my heel. I might add that the heels on these are absolutely bomber. I was using Five Ten Dragons as my main shoes and was climbing a heel-hook heavy bouldering route, then tried these on for the third time and crushed it. Another area these excel: CRACK! If you're looking for a foot jam in a narrow crack these work wonders. The aggressive toe makes it easy to slip in and the sticky rubber makes it hard to pop out. The toe has a pretty nice coat of rubber on it so they will probably last a good amount of time without holes in them compared to some other shoes. At the price I paid (64.48) these shoes are a steal. I'll probably end up buying them again at full price when they wear out, 'cause they're worth that. A couple of very very very small flaws: They dye your feet a little bit red, and the tongue is a little odd to get seated right under the laces for the first few wears. After the break-in, they're incredible shoes.

Evolv Demorto Climbing Shoe

If you can comfortably wear shoes for half an hour, you're fine. When I bought my first pair of shoes I could wear them for maybe 5 minutes at a time. Just suck it up, you'll be fine.

Unbelievable

Five Ten Dragon Lace-up Climbing Shoe

Five Ten Dragon Lace-up Climbing Shoe

Rating for this product: 5 October 28, 2009

I got these shoes 3 months ago. From what I've used (rentals, so big difference there), these are THE BEST shoes out there for bouldering. I wear size 10US mens street shoes and wear a 9 in the Dragons. After breaking the shoes in, the fit is absolutely perfect. The rubber is insanely sticky. The downturned toe is amazing for edging (Not as fun to walk in, though) and the strip of rubber on the heel makes for effortless hooks. The only thing I would like to be different about these is velcro instead of laces, as I like to take my shoes off FAST after giving a climb my all. If you're investing in some nice shoes, get these. They're awesome.

This pack is amazing. The pressure system works great and is a whole lot better than sucking like a vacuum to get a few drops of water. As always Oakley really delivers a quality product. Very comfortable straps with a chest and waist band for extra security. The pack has more pockets for cell phones, ipod, and whatever other gadgets you want to bring with you than you could need. There's a built-in emergency whistle on the clasp of the chest strap which I find a very nice feature to have. Just to set the record straight though, the pack has a 70 oz. resevoir, not 100 like it says. I bought it knowing this so I'm not taking a star away. It's also a really low profile pack compared to what the picture looks like. All around awesome product though.
