I am 5'8 180, sizing is always difficult, I am a large in the shoulders all day, medium in arms in torso. This Sweater in large fits me perfect. The cut is great, little length in the back which works perfect. Love the tight seal on the wrists.
I was in search of an insulated shell, glad I decided to go with this sweater. I wear this over a smartwool base, IceBreaker 320 mid, then an ArcTeryx Theta shell on top. If I get a little warm, I just hit the pits on the shell. The Loft Sweater, with the proper shell on top of it is the answer for Eastern chairlifts. No bulk, so you don't feel like a fat guy.
By itself, looks tight (that means dope) by itself. I was at Smuggler's (some of the slowest chairs around) a few weeks back on a Tuesday, after a unseasonal Monday of downpours, not expecting any precipitation or coldness, I only wore my Smartwool base and the Stoic. Morning was mild at the base, was warm, as hit other peaks, got raw and cold, as long as I was moving I was good, as soon as the sun hits the Stoic, the black just soaks it in. By afternoon it was dumping wet flakes, Stoic kept me dry and comfortable.
I recommend to all.
