it really depends on helmets from what i've heard. personally It was a tight fit over my bern helmet when i zipped it up completely. I only did that when i was waiting for a lift to open at my home mountain. I never wear it when i'm skiing. I do use it when skinning when the wind is really blowing.

The only time I use it in the summer when im traveling on a plane. Other than that its strickly for my backcountry tours. A suggestion i have for you is the osprey raptor. I one one and it has a helmet latch which works great.

Hey Dan, So im 5"10 150 ish and the jacket fits great. I bought a large because i was looking for something a bit bigger for powder and such. If you do want it to fit a bit more snug i would get the med. Also i dont know the rating on the jacket but its super solid ive been out skiing with it almost 20days since i got it and many of those days were dumping in crested butte. No chance water will get in, also all the zippers are watherproof, which is super nice!!!
