Atomic Bent Chetler Mini Ski - Kids'

January 2, 2012

It shreds everything. Its a little rockered, but cambered troughout. For sure good on hard pack and powder. I'm sure there are better park skis, but this ski gets it done. Skis short, just like a rockered ski for an adult, so i would upsize. My boy does not race, and he had no trouble turning the 133, which is an inch taller than him.

What's a good binding mount on the 186? Does this ski mount center and still float? Thinking i was going to mount center. This is not my powder ski. Thanks for any input.

Similar skis. Flex is comparible, and both skis are very light. My son has the chets so i would have to guess they float a little better based on width. Can't go wrong here, i would say the chet for pow, the jj if ur looking more all mountain. My favorite thing about the jj's is they float well but are stiff enough to charge anything.

In his bare feet the 133 is slightly taller than my son. Am i putting him on too big of ski or does the rocker make it ski short? He is a solid skier ready to explore more mountain.

I am a gaper from Kansas. I bought the 185 to be my everyday driver. Everyday skiing for me includes pow stashes, tree bashing, park jumps, ripping off piste in any conditions. Wow, this ski makes crud fun, carves, slashes, rides switch ,turns in trees better than any ski I've ever owned. Like to straight line in any surface condition? This is ur boy. I would trust this ski in any big mountain situation. Simply incredible!

K2 Hellbent Alpine Ski

K2 Hellbent Alpine Ski

Been riding the bacon for a few years, looked at a powder rocker for this year. Decided on the hellbent for powder, but what size? I am 39, 175 lbs, pretty aggressive for a Kansas skier, went with the 189. After the first powder turn I never wondered again if I should have got the 179. Turns on a dime, pretty much devours any kind of soft snow. A review once said, this ski inspires back country confidence, that sums it up to a tee. I have the jj 185 and this ski is what I ride when its soft. Kills any soft conditions, straight lines the hell out of crude. If ur on the fence about this ski, get off, and get the big size.

To anyone out there who skis both, say there is a foot of blower, do you jj or arg? I know jj is the jack of all trades, but if you have the option of both for powder, how do you roll? Are these skis comparable for crud? Thanks for any input.

Evan, i am no expert by any means and i love cruising these on groomers, or any conditions. You won't confuse them with race skis, but they hold an edge on groomers. Awesome platform for landing big jumps.

Turns on a dime, floats good, soft enough to launch everything, stiff enough for straightlining. Did fine on every type of snow conditions, including end of day laps through park.
