Merrell Inbound Wallabee Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 May 14, 2010

Have had bad history with purchasing shoes over the internet (usually get the company's rejects), but took a shot at these shoes on Backcountry and won. These shoes look pretty cool, feel light as a feather, and fit great. The only issues I have with them is that b/c the laces are so high up, the enter weight of the shoe rests on the very top of the foot. This would be a bigger issue if the shoe was any heavier. Also, there is an optical illusion with the stitching around the toes in which the shoe looks much smaller from the top than it really is. I wear 10's, and they look like 8's on my foot. Other than that, they're great shoes for work, walking and everyday use. I love them - just lucky I'm comfortable with my manhood...

Extra-light rain jacket

Columbia Watertight Jacket - Men's

Columbia Watertight Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 May 14, 2010

Bought this jacket to replace one I had been using for 12 years. This jacket is made out of the same material as an umbrella. It does the job (i.e. will keep you dry in the rain), but the zippers are really cheap (can never close the jacket on the first zip, and most times the zipper gets stuck on it's own material.) Also, it runs extremely big: I'm 6'1" 205, and am swimming in a Large. I understand this jacket is constructed for layering, but the sleaves come down to my knuckles, and could probaly wear a down winter jacket underneath it and still have room. Probably worth the $48 I bought it for on sale here at Backcountry, but that's about it.
