Millet delivers for women's outerwear

Millet Adrenaline Jacket - Women's

Millet Adrenaline Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 November 16, 2009

I recently became the proud owner of a Millet women's jacket and am psyched I've come across this brand! As I understand it, Millet really started being introduced into the U.S. market just last year. Unlike some of their European counterparts, Millet's women's sizing seems more true to size (I find some other Euro brands run a bit small). They tailor in all the right places to hug a women's features as they should, while still providing plenty of room to move...pole plant, twist, skin, etc. And this years colorways are really nice. Plus, seam taping is a must if you're really looking for 100% waterproofness. I would highly recommend this jacket and any others by this brand. Try it for yourself and report back. Have fun out there!

Lumi - mountain to the bars

Suunto Lumi Altimeter Watch

Suunto Lumi Altimeter Watch

Rating for this product: 5 November 16, 2009

Is it so wrong to want a watch that can hang on the trails and still look feminine enough to wear out for a drink? I think not: and I found it in the Suunto Lumi. When I opened the package, I was surprised at how big the face was...but it's still light enough to cart with me when I'm biking or skiing the backcountry. I'm not tech-savvy when it comes to gadgets but I found this to be easy to set up and use right away. I use the alarm daily and really like the sunrise and sunset time feature. And of course, the altimeter helps when tracking my stats. I'd highly recommend this watch!

Costa Del Mar Lago Polarized Sunglasses - Costa 580 Glass Lens

Costa Del Mar Lago Polarized Sunglasses - Costa 580 Glass Lens

Rating for this product: 4 August 16, 2009

This is my first pair of Costa del Mar sunglasses and I'm so happy with them! I haven't had glass lenses before and was worried about the weight. While I do notice that they are heavier, they aren't TOO heavy...and the advantages of the 580 lens outweigh an added ounce or two. They are crystal-clear, reduce glare on the water and look super hip (I got the black and white). And, I like how sturdy and durable they are. I'll have them for years.

Merrell Siren Ventilator Hiking Shoe - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 August 16, 2009

I bought these shoes for my Mom who is a huge Merrell advocate (she typically wears their winter shoes), and she is beyond satisfied. She needed a stable shoe with good grip for day hikes and the Siren Ventilator delivers. She also likes that they are very lightweight and breathable. True to size.

Lolë Comfy Zip-Up Cardigan - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 August 16, 2009

The name says it all: Lole Comfy Zip-Up Cardigan is just that. SO soft and comfortable. I could live in this thing and some of my friends would argue I am! I usually am a medium top and am in this, so it's pretty true to size. It is fitted (so you don't feel like you're in your boyfriend's oversized hoodie) and the detailing is awesome. I've gotten several compliments and am buying one for my mom, too.

Loma Glove - maybe too light weight

Giro Loma Cycling Glove - Women's

Giro Loma Cycling Glove - Women's

Rating for this product: 3 August 4, 2009

The Giro Loma cycling glove seemed perfect for what I needed it for: lightweight, full-fingered coverage for the early season, over grown trails but breathable enough so I wouldn't get too hot. Plus, thin so I can still adequately keep hold of my handlebars. All of this is true, but the seam ripped out on the right glove near the wrist. Would I buy them again? Ya, with the HnR return policy, but I was bummed they had such a short life.

Sidi Giau Shoe - Women's

Sidi Giau Shoe - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 August 4, 2009

I am so happy with my new Sidi shoes! I had shoes that tied prior and the laces always got in the way. These shoes are made for performance and they haven't let me down. I bought them for mountain biking but use'em on my road bike, too. They are as comfortable as you would hope, while still being secure. Plus, after a tiring ride, they're super easy to slip off with the velcro closure. Best yet? Rumor has it they hold up for years, so my investment should be worth every penny. Highly recommend them!

Smith Redline Max Sunglasses - Polarized

Yes, they are polarized. They come with three lens colors: polarized gray, ignitor (which is sort of a rose tint - and mainly the lens that I use) and clear.

Smith Redline Max Sunglasses - Polarized

Smith Redline Max Sunglasses - Polarized

Rating for this product: 5 June 26, 2009

I just got these glasses and am so glad I now have performance shades to wear when road and mountain biking. I swear - first ride I wore them, I had my fastest mountain bike ride of the season! I switched the lenses out for the Ignitor right away and they were solid for a sunny afternoon. The coverage was great for my face, breatheability spot-on, plus they made me look way cooler than my old pair. Total score.

Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra GTX Trail Running Shoe - Women's

Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra GTX Trail Running Shoe - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 June 19, 2009

This shoe is exactly what I need it to be: functional on the trail with incredible waterproofing to keep my feet dry. It's been a very wet spring in UT and the shoes have held up...they really are water PROOF. I find Salomon trail shoes to run a bit big, so if you are in between sizes, go with the smaller of the two. These are awesome in the Gore-Tex and non-waterproof option, too, depending on your needs. I'd absolutely invest in another pair down the line.

XT Wings are solid

Salomon XT Wings Trail Running Shoe - Women's

Salomon XT Wings Trail Running Shoe - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 June 19, 2009

I am a tried and true Salomon trail shoe fan, but this is the first time I have worn the XT Wings. I like the wider base and of course the lacing system is really easy, but I did get blisters on the inside of my heal the first few times I wore them. The shoes are sturdy yet light and do the trick on the trails now that they are worn in. I agree that these shoes run mostly true to size, or if anything slightly large. I'm usually a 6.5 - 7.0 and the pair I have are 6.5 with a little extra room to them.

CW-X VersatX Capri Tight - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 May 27, 2009

I have several CW-X conditioning wear products and these are my favorite! I love the technology of all their products, but these are the most versatile and comfortable. I have used them for hiking, going to the gym, and they are a little less techie looking, so I sported them around town a bit, too. They are extremely supportive around the core and are a great all-around workout pant. Highly recommend them!

Rating for this product: 3 May 21, 2009

While I like the fabric, I found the shirt to be smaller than I anticipated. I am usually a pretty standard medium on the top but this was snug on me. If you are in between sizes, I suggest you go up.

Cutter Switch Small Travel Multi-Tool

Cutter Switch Small Travel Multi-Tool

Rating for this product: 4 May 21, 2009

I have used this tool for both my mountain bike and road bike and don't know why it took me so long to get one! I like that it is really small because I can use it in my under-seat pack on my road bike or in my Camelbak to make sure I am set be it on the road or trail. It may be a little too small for someone with bigger hands. Also good? It's affordable, which is key.

Snug in all the right places

CW-X Pro 3/4 Tight - Women's

CW-X Pro 3/4 Tight - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 May 14, 2009

The CW-X 3/4 length Pro Tights are awesome and worth the investment for anyone serious about being active. I actually used them for a chilly spring mountain bike ride and they kept me warm and supported. They are pretty darn tight to get on, but the support is worth the shimmy into them (I suggest no witnesses when getting dressed!). Make sure the knee cap fits just above the x-shape on the lower leg and you are in the right size.

prAna Rachel Dress - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 May 14, 2009

I am a girl who could live in a long sleeved t-shirt, so this dress works well for me, as it's just an extension of that (with a pretty, feminine pattern). It is a great casual summertime dress for cooler days or nights. A little shorter than I anticipated, but I tossed some leggings underneath and it works great! Also, I'm a pretty standard Medium (smaller on the top than bottom) and it fits true to size.

Extremely light yet durable

The North Face Stretch Diad Jacket - Women's

The North Face Stretch Diad Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 May 4, 2009

I am surprisingly in love with this jacket. When I got it, I first thought there was no way it'd keep me dry in a downpour since it's so thin. Lately, Mother Nature's let me test that out, though, and it proved to work great. I used it biking in Gooseberry, hiking in Park City (it's breathable and light) and got compliments on it at a party on Saturday, too. Above all, it takes up hardly any room in the pack when you need to shed it.

The North Face Superlight Women's Sleeping Bag: 0 Degree Down

Rating for this product: 5 May 4, 2009

This bag is awesome. I bought it for backcountry skiing hut trips and winter camping (as I froze in my 20 degree bag last February in Moab) and it has proven worth every dollar. Plus, the girlie side of me likes the butter yellow and baby blue colors, too. It really is light, stuffs down to a tiny size, and the stuff sack has convenient straps for hanging it off your pack. I absolutely recommend this bag.

CW-X Expert Tights: super supportive

CW-X Expert Tight - Women's

CW-X Expert Tight - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 May 4, 2009

I just got these tights (actually, the 3/4 length) and they're great for keeping my knees in line! They are TIGHT, but not uncomfortably so. I fall in the middle of the medium sizing chart for their pants and have considered going up a size, but if you do, they won't be as supportive and the knee webbing (the purpose of such a tight) won't cup and support as its intended. Try them on for a workout or two, and commit. The CW-X Expert tights are all about performance.

CW-X Ventilator Support Bra - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 April 28, 2009

The CW-X Ventilator Support Bra is awesome! I have been wearing the same old run-of-the-mill bra for so long, I didn't realize what I was missing. It's super supportive, while allowing great ventilation when working up a sweat. It's true to size and works well for me...being a pretty average-sized chested woman. It absolutely balances support and comfort. I highly recommend!

The Chalet: Worth the investment

Nixon Chalet Watch - Women's

Nixon Chalet Watch - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 February 17, 2009

I haven't worn a watch since I got a cell phone, but I finally decided to incorporate fashion and function and get myself a Nixon. No kidding - I looked at this watch for a year and finally bit the bullet. I chose the Teak because I liked the natural-yet-hip look of it all. I'm super happy with the purchase, but will agree that the Teak doesn't look in person just as it does online. The color is a little off, but it is still darker than the Bamboo. Also, I could use one more link as it's a tiny bit snug...but not too much that I have to take it off when I'm at work or on the hill. This watch is beefy, sexy, and a funky conversation starter. Get yo'self one.

Dansko Professional Oiled Clog - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 December 29, 2008

I used to work in restaurants, on my feet for hours at a time. Dansko clogs were my go-to shoe and kept me feeling great throughout my shift and beyond. They have serious arch support and will last for years. I've trudged through many a ski season in these and they still have the stellar support, tread wear is minimal and the leather remains looking nice. I actually think they get better with age! Go for it: if you don't like them, Backcountry.com has the industry's best return policy, too.
