Mountain Hardwear Lodown Down Jacket - Men's
January 17, 2012
Hi there Jim. You sound like a big gentlemen, and I believe that you should play it safe with the XXL. It is better to have a bit more room, than for the Lowdown Jacket to be tight. Good Luck. Jeff Levin

The North Face Venture Jacket - Men's
January 17, 2012
Hey Ian. I am 5 ft. 10 inches tall and only 5 lbs. heavier than you are. Without any doubt, I'd suggest buying the Medium Size. Small will not fit you and you will simply need to return it. Good luck!

NAU Down Hooded Jacket - Men's
January 1, 2012
Hi Max: I own several down jackets with a Polyester Shell.
The Answer is that this type of shell does a "fair job" of blocking the wind. If you want a jacket that truly does a better job of blocking the wind, take a look at the Mountain Hardwear "Hunker Down Jacket." Hope this helps.

The North Face Brooklyn Down Jacket - Women's
January 1, 2012
Hi Phenomenal! Love your name. I am guessing that this North Face Brooklyn Down Jacket - is about 33 inches.
It certainly looks longer than most jacket which tend to be about 29 inches, and men's parkas tend to be around 33 inches. So, the most informed guess would be about 33 inches. Hope this helps. Jeffrey Jay Levin

The North Face Oso Hooded Fleece Jacket - Women's
January 1, 2012
Hi Logan, If you have the option, I would return the garment as "defective." No reason you should be stuck with a North Face product whose insulation is leaking. As an alternative there is a product that is a tape that seals a down garment if there is a rip or leak. Try to google "tape to seal tear in down parka." Hope this helps. Jeffrey Jay Levin

Mountain Hardwear Chillwave Down Parka - Men's
December 8, 2011
Hope this helps! The Mountain Hardwear Chillwave Parka is NOT designed for constant exposure to the rain, meaning standing in icy rain for hours. It is water resistant with a DWR (Durable Water Repellant) coating. This helps.
However, I suggest a Gore-Tex outer shell on any parka in which you will be dealing with consistent icy rain!

Arc'teryx Beta AR Jacket - Men's
November 17, 2011
HI JBERK! I suggest you stay with the XL. Although it might feel "a little bulky" it will be longer than a size Large, and permit you to layer - which you probably couldn't do with the size Large. I think with your height being 6 ft. 4 inches, the XL would be your best bet. Hope this helps.

The North Face Gotham Down Jacket - Men's
November 17, 2011
I would suggest you stick with a Medium Size.
The North Face Gotham Jacket is cut reasonably full; so if you were s medium in TNF Atlas triclimate - the chances are the Gotham size Medium should work for you. Hope this helps. Good Luck. Jeff Levin

Stoic Bombshell Insulated Jacket - Men's
November 16, 2011
At 5 feet 10 inches and 150 pounds, there is no doubt in my mind that you at least need the Medium. I am the same height and weight as you, and frequently I go with size Large. A small would really be way too tight and uncomfortable for you.
Hope this helps. Good Luck. Jeff Levin

NAU 3/4 Length Cocoon Trench Coat - Women's
November 16, 2011
You will regret not choosing a coat that is clearly very warm, with lots of down fill. I suggest sticking with The North Face Jackets that will keep you toasty. The fact that the Trench Coat you mention is "fine looking" is enticing, but you will regret the fact that it probably won't perform in keeping you "toasty" on frigid winter days in Western Massachusetts. I suggest you stick with a very warm North Face Parka. Hope this helps. Good Luck. Jeff Levin

The North Face Denali Fleece Jacket - Women's
November 16, 2011
It runs true to size, with a tendency to be just a bit roomy. I would stick to the normal size that you wear. If you generally wear a size small, then go for the size small in The North Face Denali Fleece Jacket. Hope this helps. Good Luck. Jeff Levin

The North Face Nordend Down Bomber Jacket - Men's
November 16, 2011
I suggest a size SMALL. Please understand that a size small is likely to be the better fit, and also gives you the option to layer beneath it.
An extra small is likely to be constricting, and wouldn't allow you to layer beneath it. So go for the size small. Good Luck. Jeff Levin

Doubtful. For a hood to be "helmet compatibe" it would have to be a very substantial hood, and this hood appears to be not substantial enough.

The North Face Metropolis Parka - Women's
November 16, 2011
I own the North Face Men's Metro Jacket/Parka and also love the fact that it is light and warm.
To the best of my knowledge The North Face Metro Parka for women does NOT come in a shorter length.
The fact that it is as long as it is will serve you well. It keeps the buttocks and legs warm in very cold weather - and you will really appreciat that.
Hope this helps. Good Luck. Jeff Levin

Mountain Hardwear Exposure Parka - Men's
November 16, 2011
Looks like a good ski jacket, but it is doubtful that the hood would allow for a helmet. I know that down parkas - succh as the Mt. Hardwear Chillwave Parka, have far more substantial hoods - which without any doubt would allow for a helmet.
You might want to consider the M. H. Chillwave.

Mountain Hardwear Monkey Man Fleece Jacket - Men's
November 16, 2011
The Mt. Hardwear Monkey Man Fleece Jacket is similar to the North Face Denali Jacket. Please be aware that neither of these "jackets" are meant for really cold winter days. They are the equivalent of
warm sweaters - meant for after ski wear - or for a warm day in winter - around 40 degrees Farenheit, to take the chill out. For colder days, it would be wise to invest in a good down jacket or parka - either from Mt. Hardwear or some other equally reputable manufacturer. Hope this helps.

Norrøna Trollveggen Dri3 Jacket - Men's

Columbia Snow Trinity Long Jacket - Girls'
November 16, 2011
Hi Tanya, I am quite sure that this coat will go all the way down to your knees, or even a bit longer.
At 5 ft. 4 inches in height, you shouldn't have any problem in length - if you desire this jacket to go down below your knees. However, an XL might be a big big, unless you happen to need this size to fit your frame. Hope this helps. Jeffrey Levin

Norrøna Lofoten Gore-Tex Primaloft Jacket - Men's
November 16, 2011
Hi Daq Travis, I suggest that you stick to size Large.
My reasoning is that an Extra Large would be too roomy in the body and certainly too long in the sleeves. The Gore-Tex Primaloft Jacket you are talking about should be big enough. If you find it is a bit snug when you layer, try to layer with thin fleece or silk, or thermal. Heavy fleece might occupy too much space. Good luck. Jeffrey Levin

The North Face Nuptse Down Jacket - Men's
October 20, 2010
Hi - I am 5 ft 9.5 and weigh 165 lbs. and felt just about comfortable when I just bought the North Face Nuptse - in Size LARGE. In my view, and my height and weight are very close to yours, I would go no smaller than a size LARGE IN the North Face Nutpse. Large will Not be too big, and will give you the option of layering, if you choose, on a very cold day. I hope this helps you.

Mountain Hardwear Sub Zero Down Parka - Men's
October 13, 2010
Hello Zuzana,
I have checked the specifications on this Mt. Hardwear Subzero Down Parka. The back lenth is roughly 32 inches. To put this into context, most down jackets are only 29 inches long. So, this extra three (3) inches is signiificant. It should reach to the middle or below the derriere of any man who is under six feet tall. Also, this garment is a parka, and all parkas tend to be a bit longer than down jackets. I believe this parka will be adequate in length most men - and would come close to "covering a man's butt." I hope this helps you.

Mountain Hardwear Sub Zero SL Hooded Down Jacket - Men's
October 12, 2010
HI Keith,
I own several Mt. Hardwear Subzero SL Parkas (not Jacket). I think during the really seriously cold days of winter, with high wind chills that you would benefit from the extra length that the Mt. Hardwear Subzero Sl PARKA offers rather than the jacket. While I like the greater movement a jacket sometimes affords, I have learned that for greater warmth, the length of a Parka equals greater warmth. On very cold days, I find the Subzero SL Parka is warmer than the equivalent jacket.

Mountain Hardwear Sub Zero SL Down Parka - Men's
January 19, 2010
Hi Marcus, I have bought my third Mt. Hardwear Subzero Sl Parka recently from Backcountry - and it provides warmth while I am stationary or minimally active. I switched to the M.H. Subzero SL Parka several years ago, and find it provides warmth and protection from low temps. and high wind chills. You won't be disappointed. In my view, it is a higher quality product than equivalently priced North Face parkas. Go for it!!!

Mountain Hardwear Sub Zero SL Down Parka - Men's
December 21, 2009
Hi dme2811275, I think I can suggest the proper size for you. It would be an Extra Large in the M Hardwear Subzero SL Parka. Reason is your weight. I am 5 ft 10 inches and 160 lbs and wear a large. It is comfortable at my weight and roomy! However, at your weight an Extra Large is a must. I believe you will find it appropriately roomy! I also think a double XL would be too big for you. Trust me on this. I own a few of the Mt. Hardwear Subzero SL parkas, so I know about its size. Good luck!

Mountain Hardwear Sub Zero SL Down Parka - Men's
December 4, 2009
Answer for joh3343548:
Hi there! I own the Mt. Hardwear Subzero SL Parka, and have seen the Mt. Hardwear Subzero Jacket. Here are your answers:
1) The material(s) on both are the same!
2) The Parka is simply warmer - since it is longer and covers more or your body.
(Obviously in very cold/frigid weather, if the areas below your waist is covered, as is the case with the parka, you will be warmer.
Conclusion:
The Mt. Hardwear Subzero SL Parka is a better choice if you want to be warm, and who doesn't!! So to joh3343548 and everyone else who is thinking of buying a Mountain Hardwear jacket or parka - the best choice is the Mountain Hardwear Subzero SL Parka!! You will all be happier if you make this your wiser choice!
