The North Face Horizon Tempest Pant - Women's

I got these because I wanted a non-zip off version of my older Paramount pants for travel and hiking. Like the Paramount, these have little stretch, but I don't find it very problematic. As for the fit, I would disagree that they run small...maybe half a size versus some women's clothes retailers like GAP or LOFT, but it's not significant. They are a bit tight in the butt/thighs for me (I'm 38.5" and 22" respectively there) but they pass the squat test, and the next size up was a little looser than I prefer. So my recommendation would be to go with your regular in-store vanity size if you like a slimmer fit, and size up if you like a looser fit. I do agree with other reviewers that the pockets are kind of useless, and the back ones are a little weird in shape (not super flattering). Cargo pockets like the Paramount would have been better, but oh well. For reference, I'm 5'4", 130lbs with a short torso, longer legs, and smaller waist, and I got the 4 in case they stretch out during long trips, but 6 fits as well. Length was perfect, but if you're the same height with a long torso, the short length would probably be better! Weimaraner Brown is a great neutral brown and you can't beat Backcountry's price!

Arc'teryx Gamma AR Softshell Jacket - Women's

Arc'teryx Gamma AR Softshell Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 August 13, 2010

First off, Backcountry, your colors are COMPLETELY off. The jacket looks hot pink, but in reality it's a way darker berry color. I still like it, but I'm a hot pink fan, so I was disappointed there.

Now, the rest of the jacket: fits small. I have a Styngray shell in the same size, and this fits much closer to the body. length: this is NOT for tall women! I am 5'4" and at that have a shorter torso than legs (can't wear petite length pants) and this hits me just above the hips. A little on the short side for me, but it still works. But if you're tall, unless you have some really absurd proportions, don't bother! I definitely prefer my Styngray's fit, but I couldn't pass up this price. Craftsmanship and materials are typical Arc'Teryx, so if you're a shorty like me, enjoy!
