Superfeet Easy Fit 3/4 Heel Insert - Men's

Superfeet Easy Fit 3/4 Heel Insert - Men's

Rating for this product: 2 February 6, 2012

Bought these to replace the paper thin insoles in my Rossignol ski boots. They are comfortable and I am ok with them, but I'm not seeing a huge difference in support over the stock ones and I think my feet actually tend to run colder with these insoles than they did with the originals. Not going to throw them out or anything but don't see them as $$ well spent over any other insole.

Great little box

Pelican Micro Case

Pelican Micro Case

Rating for this product: 5 February 6, 2012

Generally, I'm not a huge fan of Pelican boxes. Don't get me wrong they are fantastic products without much equal but they are bulky and heavy for the internal storage you really get. Pelican is a fantastic company with great customer service. I really do like my 1060 case. I use it on the boat to store my wallet, phone and any other small things I want to guarantee will stay dry. It's lightweight, not too big and always dry. The clear top is an added bonus in that you can see what's in the case. Definitely wouldn't mind having several of these.

KEEN Austin Casual Shoe - Men's

KEEN Austin Casual Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 February 6, 2012

I'm on my second pair of these shoes. They are real comfortable and are a good year around shoe. They are flat that is for sure, less heel than most shoes I wear. My only real complaint about these is the laces wear out pretty quick and pulling at the top has no affect on the lower laces, you have to go through the laces like a boot to get them snug. Overall, good shoes and I probably will keep a pair in my arsenal for awhile.

KEEN Brixen Low Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 February 6, 2012

Currently wearing these shoes, They are pretty warm and honestly don't breathe real well but typical for Keen, they are very well made and very comfortable. Tough and very durable along with waterproof, these are nice shoes. I've spent several evenings shoveling the driveway in these and never got cold or wet feet.

Vasque Transistor FS Trail Run Shoe - Women's

February 6, 2012

I don't believe that any shoe alone will address those issues. You need to be fit for the proper shoes, then you need proper support of your foot and very likely a 3rd party footbed or even an orthotic.

Which is better is a personal preference thing. There is no right answer to that. Oakley is much bigger and older but any goggle will fog depending on how it's worn, the weather conditions and the general condition of the goggle.

Jetboil Coffee Press

Jetboil Coffee Press

Rating for this product: 4 February 1, 2012

I use this out on my boat and when camping. Works good, though I prefer to make a little less and pour it into a 2nd cup rather than drinking from the Jet boil cup. Also don't put this on the cup until the water is hot and the fire off (duh) My Brother did that and we had hot coffee squirting everywhere!

Good Pack

Deuter Cruise 30 Backpack - 1850cu in

Deuter Cruise 30 Backpack - 1850cu in

Rating for this product: 4 February 1, 2012

Got this pack for Christmas a couple years ago. Overall I'm happy with it, I've used it not just for skiing but as a daypack in the summer and it's worked well. Deuter's documentation that came with it is extremely week and without the internet, it might be tough to figure out all the attachments and features but that aside it is pretty well thought out and I love the front access zipper. I'm a photographer and the ability to put my gear in there and have quick access to it is great. Pack balances well with skis on it and my only real complaint is the shovel pocket. Once you put the shovel in you lose about 1/3 the internal space and putting the shovel in is a real pain, this could be because I have a large shovel too.

The pack is very well constructed and I haven't had any issues with any part of the pack from a construction point.

Tough Pants

Patagonia Insulated Snowshot Pant - Men's

Patagonia Insulated Snowshot Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 February 1, 2012

Had these for 2 seasons now and no complaints. Other than that they are a little long for my short legs but not Patagonia's fault. Waterproof, we ski in Rain, hail, sleet and snow her in SE Alaska. These have been great. I typically just wear a single base layer under them and am nearly always fine with just that. But have thrown in another layer on really cold days and never remember being cold or wet in these. Thigh pocket is great for lift snacks and has extra velcro on the flaps and the pocket itself to keep stuff secure. Overall all I can ask for in a pant.

Happy with this jacket.

Patagonia Insulated Powder Bowl Jacket - Men's

Patagonia Insulated Powder Bowl Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 February 1, 2012

This has been a great jacket. I'm on my 2nd season with it. Very warm even on those days when it's blowing 40 and 15 degrees. Lots of pockets and the powder skirt works well. It also has the ability to attach to my Snowshot pants but I've never tried it. The jacket works so well with wicking and keeping you dry that I find I have to move my phone to the internal pocket rather than the chest pocket. Otherwise, my phone is soaked with condensation.

Not a fan of wearing it around town when not dressed for being outside. I usually wear a plain polo shirt to work and when it's cold out this jacket just isn't warm enough. I prefer my Wanaka for that. Then again that's not what this jacket is intended for.

KEEN Anchorage Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 January 31, 2012

Real happy with these boots, they are very waterproof but they don't breathe very well so by the end of a day, my feet can be sweaty but warm. They have held up over 2 winters very well and my only complaint is that the right boot does push on my arch a little. Great traction and really I'm overall very happy with them.

Wanaka - Great Jacket!

Patagonia Wanaka Down Jacket - Men's

Patagonia Wanaka Down Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 31, 2012

I'm currently on my 2nd Wanaka jacket. Because, this jacket runs pretty big. I'm 5'8" 210 and usually wear an XL in jackets and shirts. The XL was huge on me, I wore it for one season and loved it. But in the end I actually gave it to my 6'3" father in law! He is thrilled with it. I looked at a ton of options for a replacement and decided I wanted another Wanaka. I got a large this time and it's still a little bulky but I'm very happy with it. Perfect coat for Southeast Alaska winters!
