Great Jacket, but could use more ventilation

Marmot Corvara Softshell Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 December 16, 2009

I really like this jacket - stylish, comfortable, and the forearms aren't as tight as a wetsuit like many softshells. I wear it around more as casual wear though rather than for anything aerobic due to the lack of core venting. Why couldn't they have put Pit-Zips into this jacket? If they had, this would be truly awesome.

Black Diamond O1 Telemark Ski Binding DO NO TUSE

April 26, 2009

I have both long and short climbing wires mounted and was glad to have both on a recent Haute Route tour in Switzerland. They are difficult to move with a ski pole though (especially up) and usually required reaching down and doing by hand - a bit of a pain but not a big deal unless you are randonee racing. The heel was the only negative aspect of the O1 bindings

Black Diamond O1 Telemark Ski Binding DO NO TUSE

April 26, 2009

I just got back from doing the Haute Route on these bindings and they were awesome. The free pivot touring mode was a godsend - especially while executing kick turns on really steep climbs like the Col du Chardonnet and Col du Mont Brule. They locked down with a tap of the ski pole for descents - the best tele bindings I've ever used

G3 Expedition Climbing Skins

April 3, 2009

best option are skin savers - basically a nylon mesh half the length of the skin. You fold the skin in half with the mesh in between - they still stick together and are easy to pack away but are also easier to pull apart again and it supposedly saves the adhesive

Not bad

Rating for this product: 3 March 5, 2009

These are the first skins I've owned so I don't have a lot to compare them to, but I've found that the way the skin wraps back on itself around the front loop allows snow to work its way under the skin as you slide the ski forward. On a recent tour after about 4 hours of climbing the top foot or so of the skin was not attached to the ski and had snow packed underneath.

A bit bulky, but warm

Black Diamond Guide Glove - Men's

Black Diamond Guide Glove - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 February 20, 2009

These gloves are a bit bulky, but definitely warm. They were fine for skiing - enough dexterity to pinch and attach my telemark ski leashes - and the removeable liner makes drying easy. I would have preferred a cinch strap around the wrist, but overall a great glove

Mountain Hardwear Synchro Bib - Men's

November 24, 2008

On the Mountain Hardwear Synchro Bib, are there side zips? It looks like there are in the photo, the description for the Synchro Pants says there are side zips, but the description for the Synshro Bib says no - can you clarify?
