Icebreaker Superfine 150 Pisa Dress - Women's

Icebreaker Superfine 150 Pisa Dress - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 May 15, 2011

I absolutely adore this dress. It is insanely comfortable, and looks gorgeous. The merino wool is soft, doesn't itch, and doesn't stink even if you wear it for a few days straight. While it isn't 100% wrinkle-proof it does a more than decent job of staying wrinkle-free. The drape of the dress is extremely flattering, and while I've had problems with shelf bras on other icebreaker pieces the built-in shelf bra is very supportive. I'm 5'6 and the dress comes to just above the knee on me. With a wrap or sweater to cover the shoulders, it becomes conservative enough for me to wear to work. I've only had it for a few days but it has swiftly become my new favorite dress.

Not as flattering in person

Patagonia Bandha Dress - Women's

Patagonia Bandha Dress - Women's

Rating for this product: 3 May 8, 2011

This dress just isn't as flattering in person as it is in the pictures. I think it's a bit too long. While I generally love Patagonia dresses, this one tends to sit in my closet for months on end without being worn.

Patagonia Merino 2 Dress - Women's

Patagonia Merino 2 Dress - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 May 8, 2011

This dress packs down to the size of your fist, never wrinkles, is uber comfy, and is all around fabulous. I own it in both black and fusion, and love both. The only downside is if it gets staticky the dress is lightweight enough to cling to things.

5'6", 130lbs, 34C and a medium fits me perfectly.

Sexy AND Comfortable

Patagonia Corinne Dress - Women's

Patagonia Corinne Dress - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 May 8, 2011

I love this dress. It's absolutely beautiful, the drape is extremely flattering, and the plunging neckline is quite sexy. It's the kind of dress you can get away with wearing anywhere: a hike, a wedding, a nightclub, etc. I would highly recommend it.

While the dress has no built in bra it is quite supportive and I find I almost always wear it braless. I'm a 34C, 5'6, 130 lbs and the medium fits perfectly.

Patagonia Morning Glory Dress - Women's

May 8, 2011

How is the bust support on the new version of this dress? The tie in the back on the old version was always uncomfortable when sitting in chairs, but it did have the benefit of essentially serving as a bra. I'm curious as to how the new version compares.

Nice material, but other merino leggings are better

Icebreaker Nature Lite Legging - Women's

Icebreaker Nature Lite Legging - Women's

Rating for this product: 2 May 8, 2011

I own three pairs of merino leggings: these, the Nau M2, and the stoic merino bottoms. Of the three pairs, these are my least favorite. While the leggings are merino and have all the standard powers of merino wool (stinkless, itchless, wicking, etc.), I think that other merino leggings are just better. When it comes to durability, warmth, comfort and general backcountry use the stoic merino leggings are by far superior. When it comes to stylishness, comfort, and day-to-day use, the Nau leggings win. The truth is these leggings are always in the process of falling off my behind, and require constant adjustments to stay in place. I could never go hiking in them. These leggings just don't compete with the other options that are out there.

Sizing runs small: I am 5'6 130lbs, ordered a medium, and the leggings feel tight and oftentimes slide down.

Nice material, but the fit is weird

Icebreaker Nature 150 Holly Shelf Cami - Women's

Icebreaker Nature 150 Holly Shelf Cami - Women's

Rating for this product: 2 May 8, 2011

I'm normally a big fan of icebreaker, but to be honest I wasn't nearly as impressed with this as I thought I'd be. The tank top has a weird ratio of width to height, so I either end up showing my belly in a small or with too much room and next to no support from the shelf bra in the medium. I really wish the bra was better, it's one of the least-useful shelf bras I've ever worn.

Best Hoodie ever

Icebreaker Igloo Hooded Real Fleece Jacket - Women's

Icebreaker Igloo Hooded Real Fleece Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 February 16, 2011

I absolutely adore this jacket. It is insanely comfortable, super soft, super warm, and just all-around amazing. The fit is very form fitting, and as others have said it runs a tiny bit small--I'm usually somewhere in between a medium and a small depending on the item from icebreaker, and the medium is a bit tight around the shoulders. It bothered me at first but after about a day of wear it seems to have loosened up a bit. Its cut does make it extremely flattering. I don't think I've ever owned a hoodie that made me look thinner before. All around an awesome piece of gear.

For reference: I'm 5'6", 140lbs, and the medium fits me snugly.

Favorite new hoodie

I/O Bio Merino Contact Glory Hooded Zip Top - Women's

I/O Bio Merino Contact Glory Hooded Zip Top - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 January 16, 2011

I got this as a gift and absolutely adore it. I/O Bio merino is by far the highest quality merino I've seen; it is much softer and more luxurious to wear than Icebreaker, Stoic, Smartwool, or Nau. It just feels and looks great--perfect as a stylish light hoodie about town or as a baselayer. It is very closefitting, which combined with the (much-beloved) thumbloops makes it great for layering. The hood is very close-fitting as well, and would fit easily under a helmet or hat--though it isn't nearly as attractive for day-to-day wear with the hood up.

Stoic Merino Bottom - Women's

Stoic Merino Bottom - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 January 16, 2011

I own three pairs of merino leggings: the Nau leggings, a pair of icebreaker nature 200 leggings, and these. While Stoic's leggings are not quite as fashion-forward as icebreaker and especially Nau, in terms of functionality these absolutely win. They're warm and uber-comfy. I'm 5'6 and ordered the medium, and they fit me great though there's enough space in the legs for someone a fair bit taller than me to fit these, but I find I don't mind at all. Like all merino, these are itchless, soft, comfy, and can be worn for about a week before they even begin to stink. It is quite possible that I will never wear pants again.

The best of the merino leggings

NAU M2 Tight Long Underwear Bottom - Women's

NAU M2 Tight Long Underwear Bottom - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 January 16, 2011

I own three pairs of merino leggings: these, the Stoic Merino bottoms, and the Icebreaker nature 200 bottoms. This pair is by far my favorite! Like all merino, they are soft, itchless, and can be worn for about a week before they start to smell. They come up to just the right point on my waist: low enough to not make me look like an old lady, but high enough that I never have to worry about them riding down. They're incredibly soft, super comfy, substantial enough to wear on their own underneath a tunic, and just all around great. Warmth-wise I've worn them as my sole leg-covering for walks in the snow and was pretty comfortable--even when walking turned into sledding. The best thing about these as compared to other leggings though is that these are just more comfortable and stylish than what other companies are making. If I'm going backpacking, I'll probably bring my Stoic leggings, but for everyday wear these just plain win.

Lovely, but staticky

Patagonia Merino 2 Dress - Women's

Patagonia Merino 2 Dress - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 December 14, 2010

This really is an absolutely beautiful dress. It looks great, is soft, and is generally pretty wonderful. The only downside worth mentioning is that the wool tends to get really charged up with static electricity, leading to the clinginess other reviewers have mentioned.

Very nice T. Its much thicker than I was expecting, making it perfect for fall or for layering over a long-sleeved shirt. The wool is soft, itchless, and stink-resistant.

KEEN Shay Shoe - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 December 4, 2010

These are great shoes--super comfy, warm, and I don't have to dig through my dresser for a clean pair of socks before leaving in the morning. Go up a half-size if you plan on wearing socks with them though--I got my regular shoe size, and they fit perfectly when I'm barefooted but get a little tight when I put on a pair of wool socks with them.

Shockingly Good

ALPS Mountaineering Zephyr 1.0 1-Person 3-Season Tent

ALPS Mountaineering Zephyr 1.0 1-Person 3-Season Tent

Rating for this product: 5 December 4, 2010

I was extremely impressed by this tent. Its tiny, and I was worried because the fly doesn't quite cover the very bottom of the tent, but my last camping trip included a night on a fairly exposed ridge in a wind/rain storm and it didn't let a single drop of water in once it had been set up. Its small enough that I was able to fit this PLUS my (admittedly very small) thermarest and down sleeping bag into the bottom compartment of my backpack.

Ideal Workout Shirt

Stoic Merino150 Bliss Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Women's

Stoic Merino150 Bliss Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 December 4, 2010

I love this shirt. It's extremely comfortable, does not itch at all, and fights stink extremely well. I can wear it to a week's worth of workouts before I start noticing any smell at all. I love the long length, which makes it perfect for wearing with leggings. It isn't as soft as I/O Bio merino, but is on par with or softer than icebreaker. The heat regulation is fantastic, and the pocket is absolutely clutch--its also extremely well designed--I can use this as a base layer when layering without the pocket creating issues. I'm usually somewhere between a size small and a size medium for tops, and chose a small for this shirt--it is very formfitting on me, but I'm glad I chose the smaller size.

Sea To Summit X-Bowl Collapsable Bowl

Sea To Summit X-Bowl Collapsable Bowl

Rating for this product: 5 December 4, 2010

This is a brilliant idea and design. The bowl packs down tiny, but is perfectly sized, quite sturdy, and is generally perfect. I replaced a titanium bowl with this, and much prefer my sea-to-summit, as it never becomes too hot to touch. Because it folds down flat and can even be turned inside out, licking it clean is a breeze and I never have funky dishes after being in the woods for a while.

I/O Bio Merino Contact Rib Tank Top - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 December 4, 2010

This is the softest, comfiest tank top I have ever owned. I absolutely love it. The only downside is that it is a bit sheer (I bought it in fuschia), which loses a star from me. No itch, stink resistant. I/O Bio merino is even softer than icebreaker or stoic merino.

Excellent Leggings

Stoic Merino Bottom - Women's

Stoic Merino Bottom - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 December 4, 2010

I just received these and absolutely love them. They are very warm (comparable to the capilene-4 long underwear made by patagonia that I bought a few years ago), and I imagine they will be perfect for backpacking. Like all merino they are soft, itch-free, and reduce odors. They're also quite soft. They have a high waist, and on me at least (5'6", 140lbs muscular build) there is a bit of extra fabric in the legs. I tend to slide them down to partially cover my feet. As my primary use for these is aerial circus practice, this works great for me, but I could see bunching as a potential issue for someone wearing these underneath their boots. Probably a good choice for tall people. The material is plenty substantial, and they look quite nice; I'll be wearing them as leggings instead of just long underwear.

Icebreaker Nature Lite Legging - Women's

October 18, 2010

Are these leggings substantial enough to wear on their own without something else covering them? I'm looking for a pair of leggings to wear for Aerial Circus practice (requires durability, breathability, good range of motion and anti-stink properties), but would want something I could wear on its own.

Patagonia Morning Glory Dress - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 October 9, 2010

I love this dress--its beautiful and extremely comfortable. It can easily be dressed up for a night out or dressed down for lounging about, and it is comfy enough that you'll definitely want to wear it while lounging. Best of all, even though it has no built-in bra, the bust support is fantastic. I almost always wear it without a bra even for super-active occasions. I would highly recommend it. The only downside is that he tie in back can be uncomfortable when sitting in chairs.
