La Sportiva Imogene Trail Running Shoe - Women's

La Sportiva Imogene Trail Running Shoe - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 December 19, 2010

Very rarely do I find a shoe that's perfect from the get go. I have medium width 40.5. The lacing system is what is really nice, with laces that tighten as you run. The laces and tightness tend to stay the same as when you first tied the shoes before your run. The soles are nice, with their pressure point relieving system. I run on trails almost every outing, but when I need to run on a treadmill I use a different shoe: Montrail Masochist. I think these La Sportiva's are very comfortable, supportive and have a close fit around your foot. I want to buy 3 more pairs! Great grip on slick trail.

order 'normal' size

Vasque Transistor FS Trail Run Shoe - Women's

Vasque Transistor FS Trail Run Shoe - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 November 5, 2010

I bought these shoes for trail running a 50k in January, so I plan on putting a lot of miles on them. When I pulled them out of the box (grey/dandelion), I was surprised how light they were. I normally wear an 8.5 street shoe and buy my running shoes at a 9 or 9.5. Having ordered these in a 9.5, they were too big! SO I suggest you order your 'normal' size running shoe, if you have such a thing. The midsole and footing provide a stiff stable surface that seems it would be an excellent trail shoe. I'm exchanging for a 9. They aren't wide or narrow, seem to be a great all around 'average' foot shape shoe.

Sweetest jacket, girly, not frilly

prAna Dana Jacket - Women's

prAna Dana Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 November 29, 2009

I get compliments on this jacket all the time. Yes, I know it's cotton, I don't wear it in the rain. But the collar is extra long and folds over perfectly. The buttons are used frequently to keep out cold. (mind you, I live in Texas and it's not that cold, maybe 40s) The thing I like best besides the length is the pockets. You don't enter the pockets from the top but from the sides, so it's perfect for me to put my hands when there's no where else to go. It's a good length, is stylish, and the color is great for me. Any drawbacks? Yeah, I can't wear it more often!

Black Diamond Primrose Speed Adjust Harness - Women's

Black Diamond Primrose Speed Adjust Harness - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 April 23, 2009

I just love the speed adjust. After having a trango for literally six years, I needed some new gear. And I picked a good one. It's nice that you can adjust the leg loops and belt with ease, no problems with it coming undone either. I picked the black/gray one and am a women's size 4 and chose to order the small. it's perfect. Also, the loops are just comfy enough to be in it all day. I got excited putting it on the first time, like I knew I wouldn't have to exchange it!

So I have to admit, I'm waiting to see how this levels out to the reverso. It might be a tough contest. Should be much better than old school ATC that I had and have abused to the max.

1/2 size larger needed; sturdiest trail shoe around

Montrail Continental Divide Trail Running Shoe - Women's

Montrail Continental Divide Trail Running Shoe - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 February 17, 2009

I'm pretty satisfied with these trail running shoes. The first pair I ordered though was a half size too small (but my regular running shoe size ... womens 9). I wore them for a 25K and decided afterwards that my feet could use a bit more room. I thought there might be a problem with returning used shoes. You know what?? None whatsoever. I returned these for a womens 9.5 quickly with no problems whatsoever.
These shoes are really sturdy trail running shoes, though it takes a bit to get used to the weight. I found that because they're built for kick-butt trails, the weight of the shoe allows for extreme accuracy in foot placement without a thought of slippage.

Osprey Packs Ariel 65 Backpack - Women's - 3800-4200cu in

Rating for this product: 4 February 17, 2009

I really like this backpack but was disappointed not to have the side pocket entry....so I found a really really good deal on the women's Xenon and got it for the same price....
Also, I hear this pack isn't so great with heavier loads (like over 45lbs.)

Osprey Packs Xenon 70 Backpack - Women's - 3900-4300cu in

Rating for this product: 5 February 17, 2009

The price almost gave me a heart attack. So I had settled on the Ariel instead. Mistake! I shop around, I check the reviews...It seems that everyone loves this pack. I ended up finding this pack through another site that was selling it for the same price as the Ariel (about $250) I was ecstatic to find such a deal.
Planning on putting this new pack to the test this weekend and am so looking forward to it.
It fits really well, is super comfortable and has really intuitive compression straps that can be converted for multiples uses including a separate water carrier and day pack.

Sport Science Zip T-Neck Wool Jersey - Men's

Sport Science Zip T-Neck Wool Jersey - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 17, 2009

I've been really impressed with SportScience apparel. Until recently, I hadn't even heard of the brand. Actually, the sweater was my boyfriend's....until I stole it out of his closet. I love how comfy it is, have admittedly slept in it, and wear it as a campfire piece after a long day hiking. I've worn it on the trail too, but sometimes get a bit sweaty in it. I keep looking for the women's version to pop up on steapandcheap, but have yet to see it.
