There have been some bad reviews about this bag, but i decided to purchase anyways. Man, am I glad that i did! I love the bag, it is definitely roomy inside and my feet feel less cramped in this bags' footbox than I did in my previous mountain hardwear bag. it is really warm, packs down fairly small, and isnt too heavy. While this is a 15 degree bag, please be aware of how companies rate sleeping bags. A 15 degree bag will keep you alive in 15 degree temperatures, but will not be a comfortable sleep by any means. This bag performs best at 25-40 degrees. I camped in the bottom of the Grand Canyon with 70-75 degree nights and the bag was great to just throw over my body like a blanket while in the hammock.The bag is an awesome 3-season bag that is extremely versatile.

For backpacking trips where most of your room is occupied by food and other essentials and you cant bring extra clothes, these things are amazing. They dont smell, dry quicky, are comfortable, and dont chafe! What else could you ask for. The green color is pretty nice and does not fade. Does not itch like normal wool, the merino is extremely soft and comfortable.

These things are comfortable right out of the box! The pull chord lace is not elastic, which seems a bit strange, but it cinches down to your foot just fine for a comfortable fit. The materials are extremely lightweight and breathable. On a windy day you can feel it in your feet as if nothing were there. I generally wear a size 10 in everything, but went to a size 10.5 on these based on other reviews. They fit well, but i think i could have gotten away with wearing the size 10. They dont hold water at all, the material dries quicky, and the soft eva padding on the back is amazing to fold down the back of the shoe and wear as a slip on right out of your tent. Trip to havasupai, i wore these as a hiking shoe for the 10 mile hike in, all week as a water shoe, and hiked 10 miles out with them. Comfort support, no blisters, etc. I like!

I am a 32 waist, I ordered these in a 34 and they are still real tight. The inseam is longer than I expected, but fits decently well. The shorts are tough and thick, which also means the material is pretty abrasive. Think 'brand new pair of carhartt work pants' stiff. They'll probably last forever though

Its a black tank top, nothing to say about the design at all, other than the tank is soft. But this thing has the perfect length. it falls a bit below crotch, so is a great hybrid between tall-t and normal belt height t. I am 5'9'' and got in in the XL and it is the best fitting tanktop ive ever owned.

There is a bit of spice to this, which is real nice. While a lot of MH meals are healthy with rice and chicken, this one tastes like some great junk food Id make in my dorm freshman year of college. Please note, junk food taste is not a bad thing and is one of the top reasons I'll grab this before a long hard backpacking trip.

Of all the MH meals, this is by far my favorite. It is a hearty meal that tastes like my little italian mother cooked it on her home stove. Make sure to stir well when first adding water or you might get a few hard chunks, but beyond that, the flavor is amazing.

The title might make it seem that this is a good thing, but in my experience, the eggs taste bacon-ish and are nothing like eggs you'd make at home. With the rest of their meals (especially their pasta ones) the food tastes like it was just cooked. The eggs, unfortunately, do not. Maybe I used too much water.

I do like the chicken teriyaki a bunch. The rice is flavored great and is not crunchy, the chicken tastes a bit "dehydrated" I like the lasagna a bit better than this one, but it does the drink. Loaded with all the carbs, vits, minerals, protein, etc that you need for a day on the trail. I recommend deflating the meal with a pinhole then taping over that.

This pan will not fit on the jetboil without the stability kit, which is another $15. Beyond that, i love the pan as it makes my jetboil a ton more versatile. Bring a mini-bottle of oil on your backpacking trip as this thing is not "no stick." Eggs were a pain in the ass.

This thing is unreal for car camping. Bringing a grill and propane/gas is a pain in the ass and you are going to be building a fire anyways, so why not just throw this thing on top!? First, food over a fire tastes better! Also, its a cinch to clean. I just let it sit over the fire until all the food bits burn off then a few scrapes with a grill brush and you are ready for the next car camping adventure.

I love these indicators. They are sensitive and really detect a strike. the picture above shows multiple colors, please be aware that these are only shipping in CLEAR right now. I personally love the clear as they seem to spook the fish less.

I bought this stuff because I tend to fly through splitshot and figured this would last a bit longer. First, the packaging. I see a big circle and an average sized cube in the picture, but when you actually get it, the cube of putty is pretty tiny. You NEED to cool it off in the water to get it to harden, but even this results in launching putty across the water. My main problem with this stuff is that, on most waters I can tell "I need 1 AB weight here" or "this water looks like 1 AB and a BB of weight" With the puddy, i have absolutely no clue how much to use. It doesn't feel heavy but the tungstun has a much higher sink rate. I'll keep this in my bag for when I run out of weight, but i dont see myself using this day in and day out. Maybe I just need to get used to it

Fish seemed to love this fly yesterday during the tail end of a pretty decent caddis hatch. The foam definitely adds a bit to the float of the fly and the light colored deer/elk? hair makes this fly extremely visible throughout its drift.

All those little kid fly fishing kits and everything came with leader straighteners, so I brushed it off as some useless tool that I can better do with my hands. Well, many cuts later I have finally gone back and pruchased one myself. I was an idiot before! These things are great. Such a simple design/idea, but it really saves the pain on the river, literally.

I have been asked "why spend time straightening a leader?" Well... would you eat a fly surrounded by circular coils? Also, a straight leader will improve casting accuracy!

Got these as a present for the girlfriend and now Im going to buy myself a pair as well. I have never seen a softer footbed on anything in my life. They are so comfortable. She had some complaints out of the box becuase the toe post was really stiff, but a day of walking around solved that immediately. No blisters, no pain, just stylish comfort.

This is by far my favorite Midge nymph pattern. Midge are confusing. size 18, 20, 22, 24? Red, black, zebra, blue, tan etc etc etc. THe jujubee midge, with that bit of flash and superhair wing casing seems to attract the fish no matter what. Get the size close and you are pretty much set.

Great fly box with easy to see compartments and the magnets keep all those little flies nice and secure. A few things I dont like.

The holes where the flies go are fairly deep. THis would be ok if the fly pik was functional, but from what ive seen it seems more a gimmic than anything. But hey! its a $10 magnetic fly box. I like it

If you are building, repairing, maintaining any bike, you need to have this stuff. It makes everything go together well and stay together without destroying components in high stress environments. A 4 oz tube looks like it'll last me years and the applicator tip is clean and doenst leave a goopy mess.

Yea, it floats high, its a dry fly! But, this thing is buoyant enough to easily support a tungston dropper in the classic hopper/dropper set ups. A great summer fly, it'll definitely get those trout to hit and hit hard.

I havent fished it yet as its not PMD season, but this is by far one of the more interesting nymphs ive seen. Has the perfect mayfly profile with a really bright flash ribbing. Looks really cool when wet. Selective trout who are used to seeing our flashy crap might avoid, but this fly looks like itd be an amazing late day summer fly. I'll update once I get some fish on it

Just the other day i was picking up rocks all along the river and nearly everyone of them had multiple golden stones clinging to the underside. This fly is almost an identical match. I got the size 12 and it seems a bit "small" for a size 12, but so were the goldens that were on the rocks. Should work well.

Its april here in utah so the blue wing mayflies are starting to hatch and the barrs emerger is the perfect fly to fish a few hours before the hatch starts going. Barrs that are tied poorly don't fish but after receiving my order and examining these they are perfectly made and are going to slay some trout out here in the rockies.

Buggers are one of the most trusted/used streamers out there and for good reason. They are tied to mimic a leech and have worked forever. The added flash and bead head will definitely get those territorial trout to strike. Beyond the bead, this doesnt feel weighted but these ties are of amazing quality.

Fiddling with size 22 hooks and stuffing them into foam boxes is a pain. I lose soo many flies. This box has a great little magnet that i can just toss the flies on. There are foam sections for slightly bigger midge that is reminiscent of traditional fly boxes and the combination of both make this box amazing. Get it

5 stars might be a bit much since in the end, this is just a pair of pliers like most you could get at the hardwear store, but Park Tool quality is unreal. This is extremely solid, will take abuse, but has a soft grippy grip that wont leave your hands all sorts of callused. I like it.

These shoes are pretty unreal. The to-the-toe lacing is great to dial in an exact fit. The rubber, whether the climbing rubber on the toe or the vibram sole, is extremely grippy and the shoe is really supportive. It is pretty light weight and extremely comfortable with minimal break in time. They look at bit "sporty" in the picture, but can definitely be used in casual settings where dress shoes are too much and running shoes not enough. Great for an approach shoe, hiking shoe, and feels like it has enough support for light backpacking. Great job scarpa!

The leg pockets are awesome. Throw some beer in there and go on your way! It is too low to hit your leg so the beer just kind of hangs around your big plastic boot. Dont even know its there till its time to drink. Other than that, the pants tend to rip easily, but thats the nature of the material. Ive become a fan of the more 'tweed' finishes to protect against edge rips and stuff.

I knew going into it that 140mm skins, dukes, and bentchetlers wasn't going to be heavy, but my main reason for touring is to find some cliffs / build so jumps that are out there away from the crowds. Damn, they are heavy. By the time i get to the top of a long tour i can't even feel my hipflexors and my legs refuse to move. But... they get me up better than Trekkers, affect flex less than MFDs, and i am confident hitting jumps and cliffs unlike Fritschi's

Redington is a Sage owned brand, and you can tell. The rod is amazing. Had a good backbone to chuck some weight, but is nimble enough to delivery size 22 midge with ease as well. I have the 9ft 4wt and it is quite the versatile rod. The thing just feels right in the hand and my casting is unreal with it! Best thing... redington manages to keep the price down even though the rod is amazing.

They're comfortable and warm and the lenses are ok. There are just limited lenses and they arent easy to change. I enjoy the I/O a bit better just because of the lens quality and the lens options. They perform well on bright days, but i still havent found a flat light lens that i love.

Then buy this ball, a glow in the dark collar, and a black lab. Looks like little aliens running every which way. My dog hates the taste, but that just makes fetch easier, she actually drops it. It is really bright which makes finding it and your dog a breeze.

So simple, so perfect, so cheap! These things are great, I NEVER take mine off anymore. I have an arctic for the cold and I wear the normal one in the sun. Keeps the sun off / prevents goggle tan. They are warm, freeze less than a normal bandana and there are a million and one ways to wear it! Hell, i even use them on the river fishing.

This thing is comfortable, really thin (great for spring/summer nights), and is really really versatile. Off-hill i do a ton of backpacking trips and this thing is as useful as a $200 arc'teryx fleece. It wicks sweat, keeps the heat in, is lightweight and extremely packable, and most importantly... doesnt smell! Wear it for a full 7 day trip through the Uintahs and meet your girlfriend at the trailhead without worrying about what you smell like.

These are the most fun skis i have ever ridden in the entire world... while they work. Two straight years i've broken the skis. (atomic stands behind them with a warranty) I'm not a big guy, 5'8'' 170ish and im not sending 50-60fters with these things, but two years in a row ive had to send them back. Year one was a delam issue that seemed to be fixed, year two i shattered the sidewall with minimal impact. I see friends riding 3 yr old JJ's with core shots everywhere and they are still structurally fine... i wish for those days.

Dont get me wrong though, they are THE MOST FUN to ski ever.

End the suffer-fest of trying to get a chalky grainy energy bar down your throat and just buy these. Went from energy bar id use on tours to snack id eat whenever i could. They're delicious!Peanut butter and honey!

Good sized knife, average piocket knife size with a 3 inch glade. Big enough for most things, small enough to throw it on the pack and forget about it. The light weight is a huge plus as well as its strength. You wont be splitting wood with it, but you'll be cutting most all else.

If so, they might be perfect. The shoe is ridiculously comfortable, but i bought them for my old man for his birthday. Being 65ish and not wanting to deal with laces, the boa system was the major sell. He puts them on, twists a dial, and is on his way!

You dont generally need this stuff in the winter, but once the slush hits this is a must! It'll keep the skins snow free... and what more could you ask for. My set up is already 100 lbs per leg, why add more snow weight when a $10 piece of wax can save you

The glasses are cool, but you can see that obviously. Best selling point is the emerald lens for me. Such a versatile lens color. Flat light, bright sun, on the slopes, on the river, the lens performs EVERYWHERE. No distortion at all, not even with color! I absolutely love this lens and wish i could put it in every pair of sunglasses/goggles i own

This cord is strong and it has endless uses in my backpacking/skiing emergency kit. Hang food, cut snow columns for avy tests, guidelines, repairs, etc etc etc. The spool is small enough to fit in a pack and forget about it, but the cord is strong enough for most anything short of rapeling

These poles are sweet. They're stong, don't really bend, have great grips, and...have grab tabs? I thought it was a gimmick at first, but with the pole straps on, the grab tabs actually allow you to grab with all 5 fingers instead of stretching with just a few. Super cool! The paint doesnt chip and the grips are easy to remove if you need to cut the poles down. (The screws on the grip do nothing for holding it on, unscream the top of the pole and boil in water, then pull)

Great looking hoodie and the cotton poly blend it is awesome. Adds some stretch, a bit of wicking, and some breathability. Only negative is the zipper. The front zipper seems a bit cheap and that it could break at any minute. Ive been gentle and its still going, but i could see this thing as a "never zipped" hoodie, soon.

For a tool that is a ton cheaper than the park tool/perdros versions, this thing is tough! The spinny thing is a little tough and doesnt "glide" as well as the more expensive ones, but hell, you're removing a chainlink... who cares about glide. Twist pop done!

Sturdy construction, easiest blade to ever swap out, BLUE! in color, what more could I ask for. The saw is comfortable, tough, and small enough to fit in a standard tool box if need be.

The wax version of these jeans are pretty stiff, but once broken in they are comfortable. I feel like the reason they are cheap is because of minor defects. My button fly buttons are not completely aligned, but getitng a pair of pants for $20ish, why not?

I mean... its bar tape, so once its on it feels like every other bar tape and is great. What i really liked is the adhesive. If you mess up, its 'unsticky' enough to peel off and restart with no residue left behind, but it is plenty sticky to hold well, not roll, slip, or anything. Great ease of use!

Update to this review... it does feel better than other bartapes ive used. I hate thick gel tapes and this cork is thin but soft and comfortable. It doesnt get sweaty or slick... i love it

These things are AWESOME. I have never owned a shoe that is so light but still unbelievably comfortable. It is great! Tons of cushion, but you still get a feel for the terrain under your feet. I was going to use them exclusively for trail running and light day hikes/overnights, but theyve turned into a "wear them as often as possible" kind of shoe.

This is a cage that CAN house a pump, but it does not come with one. Please be aware of this while purchasing.

This thing is great. The magnets are extremely strong so you will not lose anything. Honestly, its become more of a fly tying (for flyfishing) tool than a bike took. Does great to hold anything from tiny hooks to large lugnuts.

Great chain tool for an awesome price. Works just as well as my more expensive $40 park tool chaintools. Can remove and replace the pins in a cinch. I absolutely love it for what it does.

I had last year's bentchelter and thought it was the best ski ive ever ridden. The ski floats like no other, has a ton of rocker, pushes through the crud, but agile enough for tight trees, and when you get back on the groomer to get back on the lift, the ski carves better than my park ski.

This season... same thing except they stiffened up the tail! Makes this ski more of a charger and lets you drop bigger things with less precision. No more washouts! I love this ski. A lot.

For being the cheapest ski in K2's line you'd expect it to be... crap. But this ski has outperformed every other ski i have ridden in park in the past. The rocker is tiny so you generally will not notice it, but you can definitely feel how it helps initiate a turn and for switch spins you never catch.

The edges are beefy and after a bunch of days abusing them on rails there are no cracks or anything. The ski carves extremely well and is a bit stiffer than what youd expect out of a cheap k2 park ski. I tried to go with smaller companies such as surface, bluehouse, armada, but got tired of breaking skis. K2 makes a cheap durable park ski and that is what I was looking for.

This thing is crazy comfortable. The fit is great, I'm about 5'10'' got the XL and its a bit below the butt, 31'' center back length. The material is thicker / warmer than I expected, but it breathes really well. The stretchy fabric is REALLLY stretchy adding to the comfort. The pockets are great, not a kangaroo but 2 individual pockets. No zipper closure or anything on them. If you get this wet it dries extremely fast and does not attract snow or freeze. Great!

Similar boxes retail for over $40... this thing... for $9 is UNBEATABLE. The center fly version is amazing. tons of room for everything. I counted and forgot how many slots total. Well over 200. The triangle cut outs make putting hooks in easy and makes removing them even easier. No more tearing foam! Its not completely waterproof. When submerged it'll leak, but dropping in the water isnt an issue at all. I really cant say enough about this box. I was blown away

Just received the ratchet today. The picture above is more or less life sized. Id ray maybe 3 inches from end to end. Its functional, but extremely small. seems decently built

This knife is BIG. It says in the specs blade length 7 in, but it didnt really register that it'd be so big till I actually saw it. It is not a pocket knife or lightweight backpacking blade, but a really heavy, really strong camp knife. Great for splitting wood and other big jobs. But dont think this is a fixed version of your average folding pocket knife.

I love these bottles, I have a bunch of nalgenes and a few of these metal bottles as well. I feel like the metal keeps drinks colder longer, but beyond that, its just a water bottle. Ive beat this thing up over the last few years, from dropping it down cliffs hiking to leaving my backpack open biking, it has a few dents, but Ive never had an issue with water ever leaking. Doesn't have a chemical plastic taste and the metal bottles are the only bottles I have used that do not retain taste. Orange juice, whiskey, beer, etc. one wash and the taste is gone, unlike many camelbaks and plastic water bottles. If you're a drinker, I say go with the steelworks over any plastic bottle out there.

I got a pair of the over-ear headphones, (didnt get the earbuds as I didnt order the package) and I'm very impressed. The sound quality is pretty sweet, but you get what you pay for. They dont have a killer bass, but its there, not around bose sound quality, but for a nice pair of over-ears for a decent price you can't go wrong.

After a recent ACL/MCL/etc tear in a ski accident i began looking around for knee braces. Tim Durtchi's review listed below sent me to check out asterisk, and even better backcountry.com sold it. Though I havent used the brace yet (still a few weeks till im cleared) I am very impressed by the construction, fit, feel, and comfort. This thing is built sturdy and strong, but with that it comes with an allen wrench and a ton of micro adjustments to get that custom fit that Donjoy offers, without that $1000 price tag. Once the brace is on your leg, it stays there. There is absolutely no movement, slippage, etc. The boot tether system seems unbelievable... linking your lower leg and the boot to create one solid limb sounds like the perfect solution to those twisty injuries that end so many seasons.
The package comes with 2 knee sleeves, different density foams to dial your fit/comfort, some stickers, allan wrench, and directions on how to make the whole thing work. I only picked up a right leg, but after wearing this around for a bit i might spring and get the left just in case.

I wasnt completely sold on this reflective lining on the inside... till i used it. It actually performs as advertised and heats you up immediately. Ive been using it as a winter fly fishing jacket and it sheds water better than I expected. I havent had issues with being cold and it breathes really well while hiking into locations.

Super fun and awesome alternative to lugging a huge drop in around. You need a crew to hit things though as it is really really hard and exhausting to pull it back by yourself and launch, pretty much impossible on a snowboard. Ideal - one person dropping, 2 people pulling it back, one person on the camera. They are heavier and clunkier than the description lets on, you'd need one hell of a pocket to fit this in there.

It is a really nice controlled pull, its not a strong jerk at the beginning, it gradually pulls and increases speed.

Recently purchased the black and red in a size medium. The wool liner is warm, the glove is 100% waterproof, and I have had no issues with cold hands, wet hands, or anything. My issue with the glove is the fit. It has an enormous palm with stubby fingers. This makes the fit a little weird. Once its on its not uncomfortable but you can definitely notice a lack of dexterity. Though this is a "short" it still comes up my wrist/forearm a good 3/4 inches and Id prefer a neoprene closure as opposed to this zip-up design. I guess they are made to keep me warm and dry... and they do that well.

I'm 5'9'' 165 - got this in the large and it fits amazing. Not baggy like a garbage bag, but I hate skin tight as well... this is perfect. Its warm and the once piece design keeps snow out on pow days. Id recommend this to anyone. Only part that sucks is when you gotta go to the bathroom... its kind of a bitch.

wide toe box, narrow heel cup = perfect combo. I love the fit of this shoe! No heel movement at all, but comfortable on the forefoot all day.

Being poor I can't afford gore-tex anything, which would obviously be the some of most waterproof/breathable stuff you can have. This is an amazing alternative. The pertex is extremely waterproof and i have had no leaking issues at all. The zipper goes to upper lip height, so you can really lock yourself in this in a bad storm. It isnt the most breathable and there isn't any venting. Any strenuous hiking in this can suck and get a little hot, but if you're waiting out a storm this ia an awesome cost effective solution. Fits decently long and at 7 oz I never leave home without this in my pack. Not much for pockets or storage on the jacket itself, but who really cares.

It looks like a flannel, but is not. It is a really really light weight button down shirt. XLT size is awesome, it fits long and tall, but not wide at all.

Never understood the need for different insoles... until I got these. I first put the red ones in my ski boots because the intuition liners dont come with them. Changed my life. I now put superfeet in everything i wear, skate-shoes through backpacking boots. The arch is higher back than Im used to put your body adjusts to it and after a few uses you dont even notice. My back feels better, dont have any foot cramps, and I feel comfortable all day. You need to try a pair

Only really taken them out 3-5 times and nothing past day hikes, but so far they've handled everything well. Good grip and lug pattern, comfortable, 100% waterproof (so far), and really really breathable. For desert or summer hiking they are great. A little bit wider in the toe box than I am used to but a nice narrow heel cup holds the foot in really well. The insoles are flimsy and look pretty bad. I replaced them with the superfeet orange insoles and they are the most comfortable hiking shoe ive come across.

Its a basic piece of metal so there is not much to review. The handlebar grip takes a little to get used to and I prefer a normal ergonomic grip over this. The grip started unraveling quickly, but a little tape fixed that easily. Its a lot better looking then the stolen rental poles.

If you have any technical shell that has lost some of its waterproofing or just starts to smell...y ou need this. Normal detergent ruins technical shell materials, this stuff preserves it. You Need to have this

I personally use these as my "after ski" shoe. Easy to slip right on and off and super comfortable after a day of being in ski boots. Really light as previously said and I absolutely love them. Do your feet a favor and get yourself a pair.

not much to say about them... they are a ski pole. it is study and will not bend like common aluminum poles. I personally got them small to fit my park needs. Ripped a pole stap off 3rd time using falling kind of hard, but no biggie. Id recommend them.

Good binding, lower din than the jester, but it is great. I have mine cranked to a din of 10 right now and I never pre-release. Much lighter than looks and rossis and salomons and the look pretty good too. Get them (or jesters if you can afford them)
