No stretch, but very comfortable

Montrail Magnet Climbing Shoe

I had a pair of Evolv Defy that weren't getting any more comfortable over the months. I picked these Magnets up for roughly $35 on SAC, and haven't put the Evolvs back on since.

When I tried the Montrails out of the box, the toe box was crushing my outside toes and I considering taking a $35 loss. But the oven-molding process softened the toe box rubber enough to create a little relief, and molded the upper to a custom fit. (and the outside stayed crunchy while the inside was juicy and full of flavor...heh).

I've got a few months in the gym on them so far, and they smear and edge well. However, time will tell once I head outside with them.
