Rossignol S7 Caballero Alpine Ski

February 26, 2009

The 186 EHPs are a bit stiffer and more damp. Not as playful but still excel in tight turns. Definitely a bit more stable in nasty conditions. They don't seem to carve as well on the groomers, but still managable. Other than that they are pretty similar------------------------------------------------------------------------------To answer my own question, I had the chance to take them both out... they ride just as described above. EHP is stiffer, S7 more playful. Neither is designed as a hardpack ski obviously. Thanks guys-Jon

Black Diamond Ascension Nylon STS Skins

Being new to backcountry skinning (never really hiked for turns before), I'm 'touring' with the S7 (145/115/123) for mostly slackcountry... how do I get full wall to wall coverage with 120 skins, or is this unnessesary with such a large ski profile?

how do the S7's compare to the 4rnt EHP's? I've been able to check out the S7's, but not the EHP's. Look to have a pretty similar profile (twinish, soft flex, rockered)... anyone who rode both have any comments?

If you aren't on the hill consistently over the season, your legs will be on fire trying to keep these things from going ballistic. They 'can' do bumps, but you'd have to be a glutton for punishment. Best used for ripping wide open, steep powder. It's super stable at high speed. Speed limit will be determined by your ability, not the ski. Legs of steel...

Great glasses, I've had a pair for the last 2/3 years. Buddy full out stepped on them and they survived pretty well. I had the repair the frames though... I use them for flying, and the lenses keep the sunlight at altitude to a reasonable level. The frames wrap around your head and stay tight enough for sports.
