Columbia Modern Logger Bib Pant - Men's

Columbia Modern Logger Bib Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 1, 2012

Great bibs for winter work. With a pair of long underwear, these are all I need for long nights of snow making. Also plenty of room for a heavier mid layer when it's below zero. Windproof, waterproof, and very tough, they are comfortable and allow for excellent movement. True, they don't unbuckle, but they're bibs; the point isn't to be putting them on and taking them off all the time. I highly recommend them for winter play and moderate work, and at half the price on steep and cheap they're a bargain. Oh yeah, they look pretty good too.

Dekline Lieutenant Moto Jacket - Men's

October 16, 2011

This jacket would be perfect for that weather if you've got a layer or two under it or if you're moving around enough to stay warm. If it's fifty degrees, you're sitting still without direct sunlight, and only wearing a T-shirt underneath, you will get cold. Also, this jacket is not a particularly slim cut, so it lends itself to layering with a sweatshirt rather well.

Kelty Redwing Backpack - 2650-3100cu in

Rating for this product: 5 March 25, 2011

Great backpack. After 10 days in Germany, I love it even more. It's cavernous, easy to get into, and is very comfortable with a heavy load for semi-long periods. I wouldn't hesitate to carry it for much longer than the 2-3 hour stints I've done so far. And it rides securely and with poise; when it was loaded lightly I even managed a few cartwheels after a couple delicious German beers. The apricot color is also very reasonable: not obnoxious, but very easy to spot.

Big Agnes Parkview 2 Tent 2-Person 3-Season

February 15, 2011

Twenty square feet would be the area of both vestibules. The tent is 7.5 feet long, the fly stakes down on the larger side about 3 feet away from the tent, creating a triangle of about 10-11 square feet. The back side is slightly smaller. Keeping your gear out of contact with the fly leaves you less than 20 square feet of usable space, but I find it more than adequate for my muddy trailbuilding gear. Keep in mind the interior area is 36 square feet. By the way, I love this tent.
