Whiskey Militia Buckaneer Thermal Top - Men's

Whiskey Militia Buckaneer Thermal Top - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 December 3, 2011

Im 5'10" and 185 lbs (40inch chest, 33 inch waist 32 inch hips) .The shirt fits well BUT my one issues with it that cause a 2 star drop is the print on the front. Its a thick one piece print (not a screen print) and it feels like a plastic sheet has been taped to you chest. I find this makes it uncomfortable but I hope with time the print will soften up and become more comfortable. 4 stars for price at $5 and the fit. -1 star for the bulky print on the front. It would defiantly be a 5 star if it was a screen print or better iron on that has been trimmed around the lettering for more comfortable fit and movement of the fabric.

runs VERY slim

Comune Fischer Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 June 10, 2011

Okay, this jacket looks good as a summer jacket. I am a healthy guy, in good shape, and has a chest that runs 38-40 inches. I bought the medium as it say chest size 41.5. this is WAY off. I do have over sized bis and tris, and the jacket is snug in the arms as well. The jacket is tight without any shirts on underneath. I would say this fits like a very snug 38 inch chest. If you buy, add 3 inches to your normal size!

Otherwise, its a basic canvas jacket. Defiantly a good light summer jacket for around town and I love the look of it.

-1 star due to sizing, but if I had a large, I would give it 5 for looks and warn others :)

Zoo York Surplus Arch Thermal Top - Men's

Zoo York Surplus Arch Thermal Top - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 May 19, 2011

I have one of these and 2 of the therm Zoo York long sleeves. This one is not as stretchy as the therm, and I find is not as comfortable. Still looks good, but is not to keep you warm on the slopes, maybe apres boarding or waiting for the bus but 60% cotton, yeah, not going to keep you very warm when you get wet ;)

Fox Eyewear The Injection Sunglasses

Fox Eyewear The Injection Sunglasses

Rating for this product: 4 May 19, 2011

Okay, I bought these glasses with the intent of using them as beach shades. After using them around, they look fantastic, but they the lens is VERY pale and not good for sunny days. They do cut some glare out, but not enough and I do find myself squinting behind the frames. In short, I think these sunglasses were made for a chotch, popped collar guy at he night club not for someone who sees the light of day.

If this was based on function, 1 star.

BUT based on looks, I will give this 4 stars because they are a very stylish set of sunglasses and I have received nothing but compliments since wearing them.

DC Unbound Jacket - Men's

April 23, 2011

If this is the same as the spectrum (which I own) it will soak alot of water up on rainy days/wet snow days. I am however never cold, and my down layer underneath is not wet in the least so it will keep you warm, will soak up water, but wont leak through the membrane to the base layers.

Adequate

Matix Miner Denim Pant - Men's

Matix Miner Denim Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 March 24, 2011

I am a 33 inch waist, fits perfect at the waist for the first few drier shrinkages. However, these are VERY tight in the thighs. I have chicken legs with an above average muscular upper body (5'9" 180lbs). I keep my lower half less extreme and do very low weight exercises to keep endurance up for hiking and snowboarding. SO if you can squat around 135, these pants will be VERY snug in the thighs. If you are naturally skinny, and are below average in activity, and like the straight leg look (below the knees) these pants should do the job just fine.

The drawstring looks silly, but it isn't sewn on so you can remove it.

Ill try one pair and wear it out and around and come back in a month or 2 about stretching/wear and tear of the pants. And if its negative, I'm returning the other pairs for sure.

runs small

Rome Watts Jacket - Men's

Rome Watts Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 March 17, 2011

I just got this jacket in the mail. Its VERY heavy and the liner is much smaller than on the size chart. I have 38 inch chest, ordered a medium which apparently runs 36-38. It fits perfectly, but the liner fits more like a 36inch or smaller (completely unwearable). Had to exchange it for a large jacket and I hope the liner from that jacket will fit.

Update: Now that Ive had this jacket for a month, here is the low down. The media pocket in the left forearm is only meant for a small media player, not a full sized IPOD or IPhone. I do however like the season pass holder in the bottom left front of the jacket. If flips down for a quick scan, then velcros back up for the run. Also the pass stickers are an added humorous bonus ;)

Length of the jacket is good, its well waterproof, the zipper is metal and seems durable so far but it does snag on the split zipper cover.

Was not impressed

Stoic Welder Gauntlet Glove

Stoic Welder Gauntlet Glove

Rating for this product: 1 November 21, 2010

I bought this off SAC for 52% off and I feel ripped off. Firstly, the glove seems of good quality of both material and design. I am a size 9 hand and the Lrg glove fits perfectly.

Now for the bad. I wore these glove once so far in a windstorm and was sadley disappointed with them. The gauntlets without insulation let the wind cut right through to the hands chilling them quickly. I was only -3 (without wind chill) and I felt like my hands were naked in the wind.

Its too much to ship these bad boys back, so they will remain in my trunk as backup gloves as something is better than nothing in an emergency.... I hope.

Skullcandy Double Agent Headphones

Skullcandy Double Agent Headphones

Rating for this product: 4 November 10, 2010

I would have given this 5 stars but I have had a couple of issues (these could be on my end however).

I bought these last May and have used them regularly at the gym. I HATE cords that tangle there so when I saw these on SAC for a wicked price of $20 I thought i would try them out.

I am pleasently surprised at the gym hwo well this unit functions. I tays in place for all bench presses, cardio and other exercises I perform. I just wish that this unit was helmet compatable for the ski slopes :)

Its very simple, no fancy screens to break. Just load a good playlist before hand as I found that the button are a little on the small side, but manageable.

I found the sound quality very good, but I dont listen to music at a high volume. There is a "click" between tracks when the track changes, but it is not even noticable at low volumes.

The only issue I have had so far is this, sometimes the unit will freeze. The lights will turn off, it will just make white noise and be unresponsive. I have corrected this by just hammering on the fast forward button so this could be an MP3 issue, but all the MP3's play fine on my PC.

I get complements all the time over these guys, and I would purchase again at the discounted price.

Burton X8 Snowboard - 08/09

September 21, 2010

If I am to compare it to my vapor, it horrible at high speed turns. IF I was to ride it on its own, its manageable but defiantly has some chatter as its a softer wood core thats meant for park play, not ripping down the mountain full speed. If you want speed and burton, try a Custom.

Very decent footwear

etnies Digit Skate Shoe - Men's

etnies Digit Skate Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 June 30, 2010

These shoes are true to size as I have size 9 feet, slightly wider than average, and the size 9 fits perfectly. There is 2 negative I found. The description says black and blue, the tag on the box said black and blue when I recieved the shoes, but it is as clearly as it is in the picture, black and purple. Not big deal, I just use them at work as I work in a kitchen and need "black" footwear. They have lasted over a year not in the kitchen and are just as solid and grippy as they were from day 1.

The second negative is with the second pair I got in white. The shoes "squeak" a little only in one shoe as I walk. Mind you the sqeuak started 8 months after I purchased them. This may be the way I walk, but just one shoe seems werid.

SO all in all, fits true, comfortable, durrable and if you can live with a little squeak as you walk (after lots of use) and can live with other dudes calling your shoes "pretty" I am happy with the purchase.

MASSIVE and barely usable as a board jacket

DC Therm Down Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 June 18, 2010

Okay, first off I am giving this jacket 3 stars for the sole reason that this jacket is stupid warm. I wore it on a -20 degree day at whistler (plus wind chill) and with just a light merino base layer, I was warm all day long. Now for the negatives. Firstly, I got the photo camo. I thought it was white and red, but it arrived cream and red. Not a bad color, just the photo doesnt give it justice. I am 5'9" and 185 lbs with a 33 inch waist and I have the jacket in LRG. The jacket is so long infact that I have split the jacket at the base of the zipper boarding. I also BROKE the tab off the zipper the first time I zipped up in cold weather. No big deal, returned it, got a new one, and guess what, it broke again same way! No biggy I just replaced it with a ring off my keychain and it perfect now as I dont get zipper flap on my face when the jacket is zipped all the way up ;)In a nutshell, Id get this jacket again for the 75 bucks I paid on Brociety based just on warmth alone but I would feel ripped paying full price due to the poor fit and broken zipper issue.

Burton X8 Snowboard - 08/09

February 11, 2010

Id say No. The newer version of this board is a rocker, but this years model of board is a camber. If you can already butter on a camber, then its fine. But Id listen to yule&bellow and stick with a rocker if your goal is to butter peak to base

Love it

Burton X8 Snowboard - 08/09

Burton X8 Snowboard - 08/09

Rating for this product: 5 February 11, 2010

I am an intermediate - advanced rider. I bought it on Brociety and have loved it since.

My primary board of choice is the vapor, but its lack of durability has led me to try this board out.

Lots of pop, stable at moderate speeds, can navigate chunk, pow and groomers with relative ease. Pulled off CRAZY wheelies in powder. All the groomers are great for ollies and nollies. All over the hill and can stomp any rollers I see fit. Buttering, not so much. The new models of this board are a rocker base and much better suited for that (as the mean green is a camber).

Love the EST system as you can switch the bindings quickly to powder or back to park. Got a 157, am 180 lbs and I could have gone a little shorter but the price was right.

In short, paired the board up with some basic Burton custom bindings, DC Allegiance boots (similar to the new judge) and it works just great.

Spy Zed Goggles w/Free Extra Lens

Spy Zed Goggles w/Free Extra Lens

Rating for this product: 4 February 11, 2010

I got this gogle with mirror pink lens and in the faux denim look. First off, not the best looking gogle, but it on par with my spy blizzards that it replaced for function, comfort and fit.No issues fogging for the first 5 rides (so far) the rose mirror lens is AMAZING. Good in bright light, excellent in low light and even in a white out I had to lead the way out while my friends had yellow oakley wisdoms on and were fully blind. Helmet compatable with my Giro g9 helmet (no google gap :) )The only issue i had was with slight fogging up. This may be due to the fact I was done up for a -20 celcius day and it turned out to be around -5 but one good bomb at full speed, the gogle vents did their job and cleared up quickly.I would say these are worth every penny on Brociety or SAC and I would purchase again.... just not the "vibrant" colors ;)

Solid Glove

Hestra Army Leather Gore-Tex XCR Glove

Hestra Army Leather Gore-Tex XCR Glove

Rating for this product: 5 January 5, 2010

I used these gloves at -18 celcius (Sorry you americans have to do the math but its 4 degrees Fahrenheit) at Whistler BC last month. Not only were my hands comfortable, but my buddy with glove warmers and his northface dilithium gloves and liners complained all day about cold fingers. I was by no means sweating, but I was warm.

I have also used these gloves on warmer days (-2 celcius, like 28 Fahrenheit) and they breathed well enough and my hands did not get over sweaty or wet.

I am a snowboarder so I spend alot of time with my hands in the snow, so I would recommend this glove for anyone.

For the guy that complained and said he needed thin liners to make the gloves warm, I have no idea why you would even need liners with this glove unless you are concered ease of regular cleaning.

Burton S Series Split Snowboard

Burton S Series Split Snowboard

Rating for this product: 5 March 5, 2009

This is a decent board. The previous review comment about how "You get what you pay for, and you get quality that will last forever with Voile".

Well, Burton only makes the deck while voile makes all the clips and accessorries to the board. My deck has been problem free (used it back country hiking for upwards of 100 miles over the past several seasons) and have only had problems with the VOILE accessories.

I have this in a 162 I am 5'10" and 180 lbs. I ride fine on pow days with this board, I ride fine on spring conditions going back country, but I have a HECK of a time on the groomers. This board is for back country use only and fatty pow days. On the groomers, I find the nose and tail clips come undone with the constant fibrations from the ice and chunk. So the board litteraly becomes "split" and is almost impossible to carve with.

Buy if you are a serious back country enthusiast or if your local hill has nice bowls to hike to such as whistlers Symphany Bowl.

Burton C60 Snowboard Binding

Burton C60 Snowboard Binding

Rating for this product: 5 January 4, 2009

I have these bindings since 06. No problem except that I make have the replace the straps as they are getting worn from overuse :) The paint chipped off in spots, but they are well used. The bindings in combination with my vapour deck left for a comfortable easy ride. If the price is too much, and you want something that is similar, try the burton customs as an alternative. Otherwise, these bad boys are worth every cent!
