Mountain Hardwear Ultralamina 32 Sleeping Bag: 32 Degree Synthetic DO NOT USE

I bought both this bag (the Ultralamina 32) and the Lamina 45. My teenage son and I packed them both on a 10 day 60 mile trip to Philmont this summer. This bag is warm as toast (temps ranged from 30 at the base to around 45 up in the mountains), very light and compresses down to the size of a medium coffee can. My fellow backpacking buddies are either jealous or have gone out and bought their own. I've done 4 trips with this bag now and love it! It's perfect for everything but the coldest outings, and I've purchased a liner for winter camping in February. I'll let you know how it performs then!

Perfect Summer and Fall Bag

Mountain Hardwear Lamina 45 Sleeping Bag: 45 Degree Synthetic

I packed with this bag on a 10 day 60 mile trip to Philmont this summer. I was worried that it might be a bit cold, but did great in temps ranging from 35 at the base to around 50 up in the mountains. I've used it in the sweaty Tennessee summers and the cool fall as well. It's SUPER light and compresses down to the size of a small coffee can. My fellow backpacking buddies are either jealous or have gone out and bought their own. I've done 4 trips with this bag now and love it!

Great weight and durability

Big Agnes Seedhouse SL2 Super Light Tent: 2-Person 3-Season

I'm over 20 nights in this tent now and love it. The weight is great - 3 1/2lbs all in, and 1.75 if you run with the fly and footprint only. It's definitely tight for two people, but doable. I bought this thinking I would use it as a one man, but have only slept alone 2 nights. It's very easy setup. By the end of our 10 day trip this summer, we could put it up at night in under 5 minutes. I love the quality and hardiness of this tent. The x style stakes are great and really can't be bent.

My one complaint - It's a front loading tent - so you have to crawl in and out. Getting up at night (us old guys need to water a rock occasionaly) requires a lot of bending and twisting especially if the fly is on and vestibule is closed. My buddy with the Hubba Hubba seems to have an easier time of it with 2 side entrances. Also, when you sleep two people, the front entrance can be a pain. All in all - a very light, very nice tent.
