I had used a pair of Cannondale toe protectors last winter, for training rides in New England starting in February. They lasted all winter and lasted for the entire Century that I did in early June in Lake Tahoe. They lasted almost another season this year before they started to rip and show holes on the bottom, so I ordered these GORE protectors in time for the Century Ride this year. I used them one day for 100 miles, and they had big holes in the bottom where I had to get off and walk at rest stops, etc. I was very disappointed to see that for a name like GORE, they didn't hold up, and were twice the cost of the Cannondales. As for warmth, they were less than or equal to the protection of the Cannondales. Save your money and go with Cannondale.
