Osprey Packs Ace 48 Backpack - Kids' - 2929cu in

Rating for this product: 5 November 17, 2008

This is a very adjustable pack that was quite comfortable for my 11 year old son. I like the integrated rain cover and helpful hints on the inside if the child is separated. We had tried a small lightweight adult pack, and although it fit, it was not as comfortable. I would only want to change the weight of the pack, as 4+ pounds cuts into a small load that a child can comfortably carry. Much better than other vendor child offerings on flexibility though!

Excellent Down Bag

Marmot Pinnacle Sleeping Bag: 15 Degree Down

Marmot Pinnacle Sleeping Bag: 15 Degree Down

Rating for this product: 5 November 17, 2008

Fantastic down bag. It both kept me warm in very cold temperatures, and was not overly hot on a more mild night. Compared to some competitor bags, Marmot bags have slightly more wiggle room considering the similar weights. I consider this the ideal 15 degree bag compared to the Sawtooth and the Helium - the EN 13537 rating is 6 degrees better for this bag than the Helium, and this bag packs pretty tight and light also.

Simple, Functional, Good Buy

GSI Outdoors Ultralight Dualist Cook System

GSI Outdoors Ultralight Dualist Cook System

Rating for this product: 5 November 17, 2008

This is a good mix of functionality and durability for the price. You essentially have 4 bowls to use if you don't care for the "mugs". Not as light as Titanium, but much more durable and usable. I have minimized this set for solo use, and it is a better buy than the GSI Solist kit.
