The North Face Power Stretch Gloves - Men's

November 24, 2011

Do you have idea how these gloves run? I checked The North face glove size chart and M should fit perfectly, but generally I am always between M and L. If by any chance someone know if they are on smaller or bigger side it will be highly appreciated. My hand measures 20cm(7,87 inches) - palm to tip of middle finger.
Kind regards,
Lubomir Iliev

Ride Beta MVMNT Snowboard Binding

March 29, 2009

I wonder which size will be better 7-9 or 9-11. I wear size 9 Lashed 32 boots(not bulky at all) so I guess 7-9 will be fine... any suggestions?

The North Face Spectrum 23 Tent 2-Person 3-Season

The North Face Spectrum 23 Tent 2-Person 3-Season

Rating for this product: 3 December 21, 2008

It's well crafted tent... looks capable of what it says excluding the fact that vents just DON'T WORK. After 2 nights spent on a trip in Rocky Mountains and waking up in a SAUNA with completely wet walls from inside(without any rain during the night and even with half opened door!!!) I just returned it. Generally I'm keen in ultralight backpacking but if you want good ventilation look for a DOUBLE-WALLED tent(an extra pound weight). After all I bought Sierra Designs Asp 2 Tent and I am very happy with it!!!

Sierra Designs ASP 2 2-Person 3-Season Tent

Sierra Designs ASP 2 2-Person 3-Season Tent

Rating for this product: 5 December 21, 2008

This tent has it all! Easy setup(color coding), really comfortable and roomy for 2 persons(2 doors and vestibules), nice design, good comfort-weight ratio, excellent ventilation... I used the tent just for a weekend trekking in the Rila mountain(Bulgaria)and one of the nights it was raining cats and dogs for 5-6 hours without a single drop inside!!! The only drawback noticed so far is the sack(it's bigger than needed and there are no compression straps)- not a big deal.

I rode with these about 20 times last season and has no issues so far. Comfort is good, buckles go smooth... be careful with the highbacks they can brake easily while getting on/off a chairlift! Friend of mine broke the highback while landing 35 footer, so as it looks this is the weakest link.

Therm-a-Rest Prolite 3 Sleeping Pad

Therm-a-Rest Prolite 3 Sleeping Pad

Rating for this product: 5 December 21, 2008

This pad is the best option for 3 season ultralight backpacking - very light and compact(I believe the best specs on the market). It seems durable too(excellent condition after 15-20 uses). The only drawback is the price, but if you can afford it go for it!

The North Face Venture Jacket - Men's

The North Face Venture Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 21, 2008

I am very happy with this jacket, it's really waterproof, lightweight and comfort fit. I would recommend it for 3 season backpacking or hiking but suitable for everyday use too. Mind that I am 5'11" , 145 lbs and large fits me just perfect(if you wonder between sizes go with the bigger one!).

Therm-a-Rest ProLite 3 Stuff Sack

Therm-a-Rest ProLite 3 Stuff Sack

Rating for this product: 5 December 20, 2008

It's a must have for Prolite 3 owners - pad fits perfectly in it and for just 0,5 oz added weight it's worth it being more organized on track... I would recommend not to store your pad in it(at home) because auto-inflates harder thereafter.

DAKINE Scout Glove - Men's

December 19, 2008

According to my experience I would rather get gloves with leather palms if I am looking for durability. This rubber(Toughtek) isn't very strong (despite the name) and is applied on cheaper models.

The North Face Impact Glove

It looks like a really solid glove, but if dexterity is not that important generally mittens are warmer than five finger construction. Go with The North Face Mountain Guide Mitten or something similar :)

Burton Space Sack

December 19, 2008

This bag has no padding so if you want to protect your board from being dropped and shredded by airport personnel my answer is NO,IT'S NOT SAFE. Go for a padded(more expensive) model or provide cushioning by yourself for peace of mind:)

These are made stiffer because they are for intermediate/advanced riders so you need to buy boots with appropriate stiffness in order to protect your ankles. Generally for freestyle.

I bought these shades and went pretty disappointed ... The frame looks made of cheap plastic and overall quality of the product is low! If you want something decent look for Oakley or Smith (I am pleased with these brands so far).

Foursquare Stevo Snowboard Jacket - Men's

Foursquare Stevo Snowboard Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 December 17, 2008

It's a good choice especially for the price. Runs a bit large for the size but has everything you need in snowboard jacket - lots of pockets, powder skirt, removable hood... As I said it's a bit baggy so if you prefer snug fit look somewhere else :)
