I know it's kind of unfair to compare this top (2012) to last year's, but I can't help it. I LOOOOVE my 2011 Dana Cami, but this one fits differently. I imagine it's still a great top for some, but for me (thin, athletic, mid 30s, 34B/C), it's not nearly as flattering.
Last year's top is the only shelf-bra tank I feel comfortable wearing outside of a yoga studio: the support isn't amazing (it's a shelf!), but the double layer of fabric drapes so nicely that I don't feel inappropriate walking around with my not-18-anymore breasts in a tank top. But this year's top fits looser (less support) and, worse yet, the inner layer of fabric is cut lower, showing cleavage... and more if you lean forward. Plus the straps don't cross anymore.
Dear North Face, please make next year's more like last year's!
If you don't mind showing off your shelf-bra'd shelf, this may still be great top for you. The fabric is AWESOME - so soft it's hard to believe it's quick dry. Mine has been washed a ton and still looks great. So comfy. My favorite roadtrip/picnic/campground top by far. Also good with a skirt and cardigan for a nice summer dinner.
- soft, cottony fabric that dries quickly, washes well, and barely wrinkles
- baja blue is fun and versatile
- nice drape
The cons (for me, at least):
- lower V cut on the inner layer this year makes it less modest
- boxier cut - if you're thin you may want to size down (I'd go XS and I'm 5'5", 120, 34B/C)
