Harmony High Volume Bilge Pump

Harmony High Volume Bilge Pump

I'm been extremely pleased with my new Harmony bilge pump. It's one of those necessities that you carry but don't think about until you need it. On a recent float down the Duck River we had a boat swamp and I was amazed how quickly I was able to get the water out of his boat and get him back in it. One of the best investments I've made.

Old Town Camden 106 Kayak

Old Town Camden 106 Kayak

Rating for this product: 3 July 4, 2011

I've been quite pleased with my new Camden 106. I will say that as a 5'11'' man I have a bit of a time getting my legs in the cockpit with the protruding electronics holder on the dash. The boat tracks well for a shy-of-eleven foot boat and gets comments on it's styling from other paddlers. My only beef has been a connector on a thigh pad that came from the factory loose. I've tried to fix it myself and am resorting to taking it in to my local outdoor shop to see if he can secure it once and for all. Update 07/07/11 - Outdoor shop said the hole had been drilled poorly and their only suggestion was to use epoxy and a clamp to see if it would stay. Very discouraged as I dropped this much money for the Old Town name and reputation only to spend more time trying to fix it than paddle it.

ExOfficio Air Strip Lite Fine-Line Plaid Shirt - Long-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 May 16, 2010

I almost love everything about this shirt. It's light, ventilates, and looks great. But after about ten minutes of wearing it I was constantly wincing from the label sticking me between the shoulder blades. I initially thought a bee had stung me but quickly figured out it was that god-awful label. And I hesitate cutting it off for fear of damaging a $70 shirt. C'mon ExOfficio. Get in the 21st century and lose the painful tags.

Mountain Hardwear Canyon Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 September 26, 2008

Kudos to Mountain Hardwear on a great pair of pants. The fit is great for average builds and the quality appears to be just what I'd expect. They are a lighter material than my North Face Paramount convertible pants so time will tell how they hold up. I also have been wearing the Paramounts year round hiking in middle Tennessee but will try the Canyons on into fall and winter. They're so comfortable I wear them around town as well.
