Smith Prophecy Replacement Goggle Lens

February 10, 2011

YES!!! I ordered some Prophecy lenses for my Prodigies and they fit perfectly. All Smith did to the Prophecy was smooth exterior the lines of the frame a little, otherwise they are the same as the Prodigy.

Marker Duke Ski Binding

April 23, 2009

If I currently have Jesters mounted, can I put the dukes on by drilling the extra two holes? In other words, do the other holes line up (minus the extra two)?

Sweat Hogs, steer clear

Smith I/O Interchangeable Optics Spherical Series Goggles

Smith I/O Interchangeable Optics Spherical Series Goggles

Rating for this product: 2 April 2, 2009

Looks are top notch, I have a large face and they are a tad tight, but you can't beat the looks.

The problem is that these had catastrophic failure in the fogging department. I ended up in a blizzard on the top of Alpental and I couldn't use my goggles, that was not fun going down 'Nash without goggles. Now, I am a sweat hog, I admit, but these were fogging the first day I got them. I don't wear a helmet and I have a decent Fro, that may be the reason for the fogging. I've been told if I wear a helmet that it may help, or if I cut my hair, that would help as well, but that's not gonna happen. I ended up giving the goggles away to a guy that is a more of a sweat piggy, not a full fledged hog. He has better luck with them, even though he had to take them off on the lift to reduce fogging, but as soon as there is airflow the fogging slowly goes away.

I used my bro's Turbfans, they worked great so know I have some prodigy turbos on the way.

So, if you are a sweat hog yourself I would recommend going with the turbofan or just a different goggle period, if not, enjoy.

Head Skis USA I Carbon Ski Pole

Head Skis USA I Carbon Ski Pole

Rating for this product: 1 April 2, 2009

Oh man, I really wanted to love these poles, they are sooooooo light and feel sooooooo good. The reason that they are so light is that there is nothing to them. I was skiing down Snake Dance at Alpy, my second day with the poles, riding the Pontoons on a fresh pow day, nothing could have been better, except... I went to pole plant and my pole drove about 2 feet into the snow! I looked at my pole and the tip was gone! No idea where it went or how it broke. So since only about 4 inches broke off I thought that I could kinda still use it to get down the hill, but within the next two turns the pole broke in half.

I am in the process now of getting my money back from Tramdock.

Great Gloves

Burton AK Yeti Glove - Men's

Burton AK Yeti Glove - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 April 2, 2009

The zipper is fantastic, just adjust the velcro with the zipper closed and then you can just zip and unzip the zipper to take the glove off, never messing with the velcro again. Pretty warm, I've only had to ball my hands up on the lift a couple times, and they are dry as a bone, until your hands start sweating of course. I got the smoke ones, I had no problem with the black leather bleeding. The tack grip is weird at first, but you get used to it and end up loving. I've skied with my gloves many a day and the tack is still there. Great product, and look at that price.

Strong, good quality

Dynastar Banshee Ski Pole

Dynastar Banshee Ski Pole

Rating for this product: 4 April 2, 2009

Great poles, the metal on the bottom is a great touch to prevent scratching to the carbon fiber which can lead to fatigue cracking. nice and light, perfect amount of flex. The only thing the pole wouldn't hold up to was my friend doing a full speed hockey stop on one, snap.

Lib Technologies NAS Pow Alpine Ski

October 28, 2008

Use the Marker Jesters. They have a nice wide base to transfer your power to the ski more efficiently than a binding with a narrower base, like the Salomon STH 16. You will have to buy an aftermarket wide brake to fit the POWs, it looks like the ski is kinda in between the wide brake measurements though. Marker has a 110mm brake and a 132mm brake so you would have to go with the 132mm more than likely because the POW is 117mm under foot. Another good thing about the Jesters is that they have a burly 16 din spring so the ski won't come flyin' off without some serious force, if at all! Jesters are kinda pricey once you add in the brake, but they are 100% worth it, I guess that if you are buying $900 skis that it might not be a problem!
