this jacket is extremely narrow cut, Im 192cm tall, 120 kgs, and this jacket in XXL is very tight around the shoulders and upper back, almost to the point of not being usable,

so if youre built, a bit overweight or just plain big, this might not be for you.

mine works for me if I limit layers to just a merino shirt, and the material and detail is excellent.

the fabric/membrane is great, very breathable like venet always is, far better than gore-tex. I used this in the coastal mountains of northern norway, around the polar circle, and it works well.

the cut is good for a hiker/biker, it is especially good that the rear of the jacket reaches down below the butt.

the hood could be better, in particular a stronger/heftier wired peak.

there are no pitzips, which is a shame

the arms are a little short. I bought this from a british online shop, had I tried it on before buying I would have got something with longer arms.

warm and stylish, but itchy an a bit tight for my big norwegian head.
this beanie is no better performance-wise than say a military wool watch cap, and trhree times more expensive, so unless the logo and looks are important too you, get something else.

pertex is a british performance material that you yanks should really use more. this jacket is very light and packable, an excellent shell to have in a backpack. totally waterproof(might not last without some re-dwr-ing)and as fart as I can tell no less breathable than gore-tex, though significantly less breatahble than Montane or Vaude eVent jackets.

all in all a very good mountain hiking shell.

bought one for mother, cant say anything about the performance, but the looks are really good.

I love this one, so light and thin, its perfect for when a woolen cap is too much, but you need something on your head. very good against wind and water, while breathing wery well. I have used this in sleet and hail both in the inland and on the coast of northern norway( 66 degrees north), and in clear cold weather in the mountains of southern norway at around 2000 meters, and its great both places. bring a woolen cap to put over in severe cold.
