Norrøna Lofoten Gore-Tex Insulated Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 March 22, 2012

I have a pair of Norrona Stranda lightly insulated pants from a couple of years ago and bought the Lofoten insulated jacket this year. I love both of them! Norrona puts out a very high quality, nicely crafted product.

I have the pants in a small and the jacket in a medium. (5'4", 130 lbs). I almost purchased the jacket in Sm, but happy that I went with Md as it's a bit of a slim fit. I think a small would have been binding under the arms. At first I thought the Md was a little binding under the arms, but after the pit zips relaxed a little bit, the slight binding feeling went away. The light insulation is quite warm, but not too bulky.

I have the blue... it's a very bright blue, pretty true to what is shown, however it has a very nice fine plaid in the color that's just a slightly darker shade of blue (don't see it unless you're up close).

Worth the price paid! Thank you for importing product from this company.

Ortovox Grizzly 1 Shovel

Spec's say it's extendable, does that just mean you can unfold the handle or that it also extends? What is the full length - extended? 25", or is it more?

Norrøna Stranda dri 2 Insulated Pant - Women's

Norrøna Stranda dri 2 Insulated Pant - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 February 9, 2010

I ordered this pant in a small (5'5", 125 lb) and they were plenty big. Nice features and a very nice cut. (Wine color) The turquoise zippers are not just on the front, the thigh zippers, lower leg zipper, and back zippers are also turquoise with a patch of turquoise cloth around the back zipper. It's an odd combination, but I'm getting used to it.

Great style, color and fit

Stoic Welder Insulated Softshell Jacket - Women's

Stoic Welder Insulated Softshell Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 January 4, 2010

I am 5'5" and about 125 lb. I normally wear a small in jackets and shells. I purchased this jacket in a size medium so I could layer under it when I am not being active in it and have plenty of room to spare without it looking to large or baggy. This is not a heavy jacket for standing around out in the cold - but has great features for activity... useful pockets, pit zips, hood, light insulation, etc. The liner is beautiful! Unlike the photo above, the liner in my jacket is the same dark berry color that accents the outer shell. It has a stitched quilted pattern in it and is smooth so when layering it does not get caught on your sweater or fleece. I love this jacket and get great comments when I wear it!

Nice pant, nice style, odd fit

Stoic Tour Softshell Pant - Women's

Stoic Tour Softshell Pant - Women's

Rating for this product: 3 January 4, 2010

I have a Stoic softshell jacket in a size medium and love it! It has plenty of room for layering and is very well made and styled. I ordered these pants after reading all of the reviews... I am 5'5", weigh about 125 lb and usually wear a small (6) or medium - depending on the cut. The Stoic Tour Softshell is a nice heavier weight softshell with some useful features, high quality construction and nice styling... However, when I tried them on I found them to be too snug in the hips and thigh and about 4" too long. I cycle, skate and tele ski with a normal build for these activitites and do not have short legs for my height. Sadly I had to send the pants back - which was very easy to do with the Backcountry return policy. I instead went with a Mountain Hardwear Synchro softshell pant - which is a roomy medium with belt loops and easy venting (I could almost go with a small in this one - but I don't like restrictive clothing for tele skiing and prefer to have room for adding a layer). I would give the Stoic 5 stars for quality and style, but only gave them 3 stars because of fit.
