Descente Avanti Pro Bib Short - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 September 14, 2011

I used to only wear Castelli but I decided to try something new. I picked these up on sale for 99 dollars and they are well worth the money. I have tested them out on several long rides and on a 200 mile race and they performed very well. Nice high quality pad with high density foam, the red trim looks sharp, and they breath and ventilate very well. I am 5' 10" 185 lbs 36" waist and the large fit perfectly. I hope they are more durable than some of my previous Castelli shorts. Here on RC for 120 is still and awesome deal. Made in Portugal which I thought was interesting. I highly recommend these shorts.

Michelin Pro3 Race Tire

August 28, 2011

I know these are getting cleared out for this model year. These Pro Race 3's replaced the 2's in around 2007. Michelin announced the Pro Race 4's with three different models are upcoming for 2012.

Nice but not perfect

Castelli Podium Collection - Mortirolo Bib Short - Men's

Castelli Podium Collection - Mortirolo Bib Short - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 August 27, 2011

I have tried over 5 pairs of different Castelli Bibs. I was a little disappointed with these bibs, my previous Progetto Y2 of about 6 years ago are made in the USA. These are made in Central America somewhere. The cut is a lot lower in the belly area. I am 5 10 190 36 in waist and I ordered a large and they are pretty tight and the straps pull a little on the shoulder. I am considering swapping out for a XL. Overall not bad, nice chamois and the look is decent.

Anybody have any idea what the back of these jerseys look like? (I want to know what my riding buddies will see all day) All of the pictures only have the front views.

Nice Tires

Vredestein Fortezza Tricomp Tire

Vredestein Fortezza Tricomp Tire

Rating for this product: 5 August 12, 2010

I think all tires have certain good and bad qualities. After using GP3000 (sidewalls were weak and seemed to fail) and Michelin Pro Race2 (very difficult to install but nice). My overall favorite tires have been the Fortezza Tri-comps, they roll very nice, are durable and I rode 1800 miles without a flat. I had on older model a few years ago that lost the shape and got a bulge in it, but the newer models seem to have improved that defect. I enjoy putting them around 140 and they are fast. Very nice assortment of colors too is a plus. The weight is comparable to other similar priced tires.
