After several washes and wears this glove still smells of petroleum. Probably because this glove is 100% synthetic.

purchased off of one of those SAC sites. this review is for the asphalt color.

they were great when i was riding but i've sinced stopped riding and have picked up running. i wear them during the cold morning or wet runs. theyre pretty stretchy and don't look too bad. the only other running pants i could find are the spandex types... no thanks.

grabbed off of bunktown. ive been wearing these for the past 5 days straight. oh man theyre awesome. i use to wear cargo shorts i got at target on my rides but no more. these are now my daily commuter pants. in fact, im wearing them right now.

what i dont get is the pocket layout. what the hell were they thinking when they designed the left front pocket. it has a useless smaller pocket. i would have opted for deeper front pockets with coin catchers.

there's also a rear loop with buckle. i think this is for holding a key ring. im not sure. it doesnt look very secure for holding keys.

im 5'4", 135lb, 30 waist; the S fits perfectly. in fact i could go a little looser. these are fitted on me and come about 5in below my knees.

these feel great in the saddle.

one review on bonktown says that the S is 32"; it actually feels true to size, 30". im a 30" and wouldve like the waist to have a little more give. it's fitted on me.

bought this off of SAC. i have a long sleeve stoic tee that i just love, but this one is just weird. the zippers and pockets make this one very unattractive. the zippers on both the pocket and neck are at angles which make the shirt look cheaply made. im going to return them.

what you're paying for is the weight. it's light, as in it doesnt weigh much. i could see this as an advantage if youre using this on night runs or if you're packing for a camping trip and weight is critical. but it's not waterproof nor is the light output the greatest at this pricepoint. even at SAC prices, there are better options out there if you are not a weight weeny.i was using this as a headlamp while biking. but had to remove it from my helmet every time it rained. i ended up replacing it with a Tikka 2 Plus. the tikka has more features and is waterproof.BTW. the description says that it has 3 brightness settings. mine only has 2; bright and brighter. are they counting OFF as a brightness setting? or does the updated version have 3 settings?

ok, there is indeed a 3rd setting as pointed out by a helpful user. but my 3 star rating still stands.

this is an awesome jacket that is totally waterproof. i've only had it for a few days and i cant wait to use it more often. it's totally breathable so no more sweaty build up after working out at the gym.

the only complaint is that the main zipper is a little difficult to zip up. but it's not impossible.

originally i ordered a small thinking that it would fit well on my 5'4", 135lb, frame. I wear a 38" chest size, but it was a little too snug around the chest and shoulders. it's no where near the 41" thats specified on the size chart. it's not impossible to wear while riding though. it felt nice when hunched over the handlebars, but i wanted something that i could feel comfortable in while layering so I decided to size up to a medium. that did the trick. the medium is an excellent fit for me. the arm length difference between the S and M is negligible, but the little extra girth in the chest/shoulder area made a world of difference in comfort. so size up!

I've owned these for little over 2 months, using them pretty much everyday as commuter gloves, and they're already showing wear at the fingertips. The synthetic suede has already rubbed off at the very tip of the fingertips. The silicone grips at the index and middle fingertips have already rubbed off.

I don't expect these gloves to last another couple months.Other than that, they look and feel awesome, but could be made better for the price.

the synthetic suede (Chamude) has completely rubbed off my right index finger and thumb. both rear derailleur trigger shifter fingers have been rubbed bare to the cloth. Sombrio should have chosen better material. the synthetic cloth is terrible as a daily commuter glove, but i can see these gloves lasting longer if youre a weekend warrior using these gloves on the occassional sunday single track.

I returned these gloves because they where tight in the wrong places. Dakine size small are fitted on me, that why I purchase them, but these pinched at webbing between the thumb and forefinger. Very uncomfortable.

Size up!

ive had these gloves for 2 weeks now and i love them. so far i've worn them casually, while running, and while biking in the rain. the weather proofing has withstood a light drizzle in los angeles, and 40 degree weather in norcal. they are also thin enough to be unobtrusive while bicycling in the rain.

these glove do run a little larger than usual for Dakine gloves. In other words, they probably run true to size.

This is a great looking jacket that will get many compliments. However, the filling is coming out the seams! I constantly have to pick out the loose loft that sneek out of the seam holes! I have a similar REI jacket that doesn't have this problem. I guess the quality of these Stoic jackets are sub-par.
