Cloudveil Dyno Pant - Men's

November 15, 2010

My Dynos offered great stretch and showed no signs of wear after 8 hours of climbing. They were a little baggy in the rear, albeit I have a hard time finding pants that aren't on my scrawny a**. Overall, these are some durable pants.

Great Setup

Black Diamond Big Air Package

Black Diamond Big Air Package

Rating for this product: 5 December 6, 2010

Being new to the climbing scene, I needed something that was easy to use and wouldn't break the bank. This combo served both purposes admirably. The BD-esque ATC/biner combo is pretty much the standard for recreational climbers. Owning one allowed me to not only be familiar with my own setup but by learning on this combo I have been able to belay for friends, family, neighbors and strangers who more often that not own a similar belay device. Saying that, I would strongly encourage new climbers to invest in one. Only small gripe is that it is a bit of a slow rappel with burly gym ropes if you weigh less than 140lbs.

Stoic Tour Softshell Pant - Men's

Stoic Tour Softshell Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 December 4, 2010

I snapped these up off of SAC in the "metal" color, which was more of a light gray than the white that the pictures on BC show. The material seems thick, durable, and warm. However, they did not fit well. I wear a 28-29 waist/32 length, and the smalls were a bit too roomy, even with layers underneath. Wanting a pant that did not leave me with a baggy posterior, I ended up sending them back.

Just got this number for Christmas from the gf. It is amazingly soft, lightweight, and warm. The DWR finish stood up in light rain and sleet with no problems. If you buy this jacket, get ready for everyone to want to cop a feel of your comfort.

This jacket is WARM! And it packs down smaller than a loaf of bread in the included stuff sack. Truly exceptional function for the money and Mountain Hardware once again delivers.
