Arc'teryx Theta AR Jacket - Men's

Just adding my 5-star review to the dozens of others. This jacket performs, and the material is great. Never turning back from Pro Shell, and Arc' just makes sweet equipment. I like lots of other companies for different things, but my favorite base, mid, and tech shells come from Arcteryx. Only negative on this jacket for me is my use of the theta AR as a snowboarder: I wish it had a powder skirt. But that's my fault for buying a jacket without it!

I disagree somewhat on the hem drew cords being a suitable replacement for a powder skirt. As a snowboarder, it's the one thing I wish this jacket had. Granted, the layers you choose underneath could protect you, but if you're not wearing long base layers that can tuck/snap into pants, that wipeout can definitely feel a bit colder w/the Theta AR

I'd say go for the Large. I'm 6'1" and 185, and I actually wear an XL and it doesn't look overly big. If a large was available when I bought, it would have fit the best for me. I wear L in my Arc' base & mid layers (i have 1 of each), and I couldn't fit into a medium if I wanted to. BTW, I have a 34" arm length and have no issue.

great lens & goggle

Zeal Dominator SPX Goggle - Polarized

I have nothing bad to say about this goggle. The lens worked amazingly well on my recent trip to Winter Park where we had sun the first day, 10" of snow throughout the second day, and overcast skies during others. I never even had the thought to switch my goggle. I've had some bolle's in the past that would fog up occasionally and the lens was only good in bright light. These just plain work, and as a snowboarder I like the extra field of view the spherical lens contributes. I wear it with my Smith Variant Brim helmet, and couldn't be happier.

Great helmet for all conditions, zeal

I'm a boarder and originally was looking for a bern or red, but after visiting a store and trying them on, this smith just fit the best. The mesh lining & xstatic just felt sweet. It looks great, the vents are easy to adjust for conditions (i was easily able to close them on the ski lift w/my gloves on) They fit seamlessly with my Zeal Dominator goggle, and I also like that the Medium is so adjustable (54-59 cm i think), so I can wear a beanie underneath w/out issue if wanted. You can easily drop in audio adapters as well, if you're into that.

two questions. Is this a technical shell, or is the jacket insulated? Also, how does HH waterproofing compare to Goretex PRO Shell, etc.?
