Five Ten Anasazi VCS Climbing Shoe - 2012 Model

Five Ten Anasazi VCS Climbing Shoe - 2012 Model

Rating for this product: 3 March 25, 2008

Good shoe overall but Five Ten still makes a pretty baggy heel and the material on the inside of the shoe takes ages to soften up and break in. Don't get me wrong, the anasazi velcro has done wonders for climbing technology but it would be nice to see Five Ten expand it's line and not cling on to its old successes. A good alternative for a little cheaper are the evolve pontas's or if you don't mind a little less quality, then even the Mad Rock Mugens.

Evolv Pontas Climbing Shoe

Evolv Pontas Climbing Shoe

Rating for this product: 4 September 24, 2007

Well I had previously owned some Sportiva mythos, and Evolve evo's and was excited when the new Sharma models came out. First off I had a big problem with the sizing so I suggest going down a half size to a size (especially for bouldering) because the Pontas seem to run a little bigger than other Evolv shoes. After climbing for a while the fit of the shoes really shined and even when worn for hours they were still comfy and great for edging/smearing. but there is a downside.... these shoes reek to the max when worn after just a few sessions just like other Evolvs so beware! I tried everything from bounce sheets to air freshener and it just made it worse...
