The bug hut is essentially a minimalists tent: it has no fly, is mostly mesh, few stakes, and not terribly sturdy. This is certainly not for winter use. It does not hold heat and would not hold up to significant wind. Rain / moisture will pass right through the mesh body. That being said, it is very light (to carry). It packs into a pretty small space. It keeps the bugs out and gives the security of a tent enclosure. Also, provides great views of the night sky, and fresh air. In my opinion, a better experience than being trapped in an almost air-tight tent :) Also, it is reasonably priced- less than most bivy sacks, and it holds two people.
One complaint, the first time I used this, I put it down in an area that had a few small plants on the ground. I pulled out most of them, but when I got in the tent, I noticed one small stub was nearly poking through the tent floor, and I'm sure it would have if I had not noticed and got out and ripped it out all the way. Nothing about this tent is sturdy. It is made for light duty. Remains to be seen how it will hold up after multiple uses. Also, I slept in this with one person, but two large people would be pretty cramped. I think two small - medium size would be okay though.
