What's unusual about this tent: This tent has an appealing center height (tall) and sq. ft. footprint for those people on the borderline between ultralight and family camping needs. It certainly doesn't feel like a coffin.
Assets: The tent is pretty lightweight and extremely easy to set-up. It has great usable (simple) interior layout making it comfortable for two people. Nice attention to details. Color- coded for set up and use. White color helps to illuminate the interior in cloudy weather. This tent has a lifetime warranty, though.
Oops!: The tent did leak a little bit in rain, but that was before I had a chance to seal the seams plus it was not fully staked out - our fault.
Price: I bought this tent on sale, and I think it was a great bargain. It certainly will suit our needs; light backbacking, bike touring, and car camping. To get the all attributes in a tent that really suits the needs for bike touring we'd have to spend MUCH more.
Drawback: One drawback I can see is the pack dimensions, it's a little longer than I'd prefer for bike touring. But for the price, we can work around this minor detail. It's still lightweight, just a little long.
Another design drawback for me is the inability to close the (big) door when the fly is not in use. I suppose this is common in tents of this style, but it leaves me wishing for a bit more privacy. I guess that depends where it's pitched, backcountry or full campground.
Wishlist: I wish I bought the gear loft
when I bought the tent.
Overall: A really great tent for the price.
