Oakley A-Frame Goggle

March 16, 2012

Polarized lenses for skiing aren't the best choice. You won't find that many that are polarized. The reason is you can't see definition of ice vs. snow with polarized lenses. I would go with a goggle that allows for a replaceable lens and then get a really dark lens. Smith has a couple great options for goggles and then you can get the Fire Sensor Mirror or the Gold Sol X Mirror. Hope this helps.

Smith Phase Goggle - Women's

March 8, 2012

This lens is one of Smith's darkest. It has a 15% VLT rating which means it is very dark and only lets in 15% of sunlight. However, the green base makes it versatile because the green amplifies natural colors like green, brown, blue, etc. I would recommend this for blue bird days and somewhat overcast days. For snowy days this wouldn't be the best choice. Honestly a Sol X Mirror lens and a Sensor Mirror lens will cover most everyday on the mountain. The Gold Sol X Mirror is pretty sick, 7% VLT! Hope this helps.

Smith Hideout Sunglasses - Polarchromic

Rating for this product: 5 February 29, 2012

I had the Smith Optics T-Nine for years. Lost them in a river a couple years ago and was devastated. Got these sunglasses last year and i have to say they are probably the best replacement for my T-Nines. Too bad Smith doesn't make those anymore. For fit...I have a large head and love full coverage lenses. These are perfect except the lens doesn't cover to the bottom of the eye, you still get a little gap there. Oh well, none did as well as the T-Nine.

Marmot Power Stretch Half-Zip Fleece Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 29, 2012

I think Marmot has some fantastic colors and this top does not disappoint. On top of that the fleece they use is just warm enough while being low profile for layering with a base and a softshell. There are nose wipe zones on the cuffs, a high neck with zip, chest zip pocket and the stretch is no joke. For fit...I am 6' 2" 185 lbs. and have a large.

Rating for this product: 4 February 23, 2012

I always seem to have a love/hate relationship with snowboard boots. They usually fit fantastic and feel great, but then something runs a muck. With the Imperial it is that the toe collapses under pressure from the Cap Strap on my Cartel bindings and only the right boot!!! La Sportiva Miura Climbing Shoe - Men's Discontinued Rubber

March 26, 2010

Tough to say for sure. All i can say is that i wear a 13 street shoe and have 42 venoms (supertight curled toes, boudlering) and 44 Miuras (toes touching up front). It seems like, with an 11 street shoe you could shoot for 42-43 in Miuras. Sorry i can't be of more help...choose wisely!!!

Vasque Radiator Mountaineering Boot - Men's

December 2, 2009

Extremely well. I have the Vasque M-Possible and i love them for vertical ice and mountaineering. These have front and back bailers so you can get an aggressive crampon too! Cheers

Black Diamond Apex GTX Gaiter

November 18, 2009

Should be a welded double layer 600d abrasion guard. You can see the seam about halfway down where the fabric changes. That is where you start to get the burlier fabric.

Scarpa Veloce Climbing Shoe -2009

November 18, 2009

The fit will be almost identical, but the fell and performance with differ a little. The Force is lined and Veloce (will stretch more) is not. The midsole is also thicker on the Veloce (stiffer overall). Hope this helps. Cheers!

DAKINE High Roller Snowboard Bag

November 18, 2009

I am sure you could fit two boards as long as you take the bindings off of one and stack the boards. Then put the second set of bindings in between the bindings on the top board. That should work to perfection...Good Luck!

Black Diamond O3 Telemark Binding

November 17, 2009

Honestly once you have used the O1's you will probably just be pissed off. I suppose you could try them out (demo) or something, but ultimately i think you would want your O1's back.

Black Diamond Havoc Ski

November 12, 2009

Get the 90mm brakes. They should work fine, but if you feel you need a little more you can just bend them a little.
