I have another but older and similar kayak from Necky (LookSha IV). The Necky Kayak seems a little faster, better on leaning whereas the Dagger seems to have better primary stability but likely worse secondary. Necky is a popular Kayak in this part of Canada. I have yet to take the Dagger out in bad weather but I think it will be fine. The Dagger accessories are as good or better than the Necky, but the real benefit is that the cockpit is significantly easier to get into for me and the footpegs were easier to fiddle with. I am 6'4" and the Necky was a little dodgy getting into and out of. I have tried some wet exits and solo and partner re-entries with no difficulties on the Dagger...so if it does tip I am confident I can get back in. Plus it has more storage. Pleased with the purchase, pleased with BackcountryStore.
