I've used a variety of stoves over the years, and the WhisperLite Internationale is hands down the most reliable stove I've ever used. I've had mine for about 10 years, used it myself on many occasions and loaned it to my equipment abusive friends quite often as well. I think it's probably seen between 200-250 days on the trail. It's performed admirably from dusty New Mexico, to well below freezing temps and altitude in the Rockies, to wet and soggy campsites in Minnesota. With the amount of abuse this little stove has taken, it should have checked out years ago - but it's still the same blowtorch today that it was the first time I used it. It can be tricky at first, but once you know how to work it, you can simmer quite nicely.

I've never had to replace the pump, and I've only had to oil the plunger cup a couple of times. I did replace the priming wick once, but that was more cosmetic than anything, you really don't even need it. Heck, this stove has outlived its original fuel bottle! The shaker jet technology is supposed to allow you to clean it with a shake - on the trail I've never had to find out - I've never needed to. I do take it apart and clean it once a year, so apparently a minimum of maintenance renders the shaker jet a moot point. I still have the same repair kit that I bought with the stove. I think I wasted my money on the repair kit.
