Arc'teryx Alpha SL Pullover - Men's

April 20, 2011

I need a jacket that can handle very hard driving rain. Is this zipper just seam sealed or is there also a storm flap underneath? I have found that seam sealed zippers always leak in the driving rain and the pictures do not show the zipper detail.

It was time to update my helmet so I purchased the Variant Brim to go with my Smith goggles. As advertised the helmet and goggle compatibility is great. Good venting if you need it.

Julbo Sherpa Sunglasses - Spectron 3+ Lens

Julbo Sherpa Sunglasses - Spectron 3+ Lens

Rating for this product: 4 December 7, 2009

If you want the best value for your bucks, buy Julbo. I live in the mountains and my shades take a beating in the backcountry. Comes with a hard shell case for storing so they don't get smashed. I lost my last pair so they aren't too expensive to replace. You can get better shades but no where near this price.

great headlamp for 20 bucks

Black Diamond Gizmo Headlamp

Black Diamond Gizmo Headlamp

Rating for this product: 5 December 7, 2009

I bought this as a backup and it is an excellent little headlamp. I use it to walk to the bus stop as there are no street lights where I live. Small, lightweight and very portable. I also use it as a backup light for backcountry trips.

Good heavy duty boot

La Sportiva Makalu Mountaineering Boot - Men's

La Sportiva Makalu Mountaineering Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 January 18, 2006

Everyone raved how awesome this boot is. It is great at mixed climbing, or heavy backpacking, but I would go with a serious plastic like Koflach for any serious mountaineering.
